You’re making the mistake in thinking that Watford have the same expectations as Everton. In fact, you’re mistaken if you think all of them clubs have the same expectations as this club did.

Wolves are newly promoted and West Ham have had two Top 10 finishes in 10 years. To put that into perspective, we’ve had 8 Top 8 finishes in that time.

Same with Leicester, barring their fluke league win, they’ve found their level as midtable.

Yet again, they`re warming up again for the usual - " I TOLD YOU SO / SILVA OUT " if we get beaten against Man U at the weekend.

And then strangely remaining largely silent if we win.

You can almost set your clock by them.

My African red devil seeds should be due germination by tomorrow. I was going to open a thread about thier progress but I think I might leave updates in here.

Sad that you can’t recognise what a good job Javi Garcia has performed.

Didnt say they havnt done well. In fact, I said they have.

I disagree that they have been transformed. Had a good year. Will no doubt sink back in the not too distant. Which I think you agreed with.

You don’t think Watford are transformed? They were a team who always had relegation in the back of their mind.

Expecting 7th is the bear minimum we should be expecting, I would expect 7th next season, I’d expect 7th again, but challenging the Top 6 more than we have done.

If we go with your attitude, the club might as well pack up now.

My attitude? You mean the attitude that’s willing to take incremental steps in order to achieve a long term goal? I think that’s a bit more realistic than sitting there screaming WEREZ ARE AMBISHUN at your screen because you aren’t willing to have a bit of patience. If by any chance you’re interested in what bits of progress I think we’ve made, here they are:

- Played one of the fabled “top 6” teams off the park from start to finish. Never once did we do that under the much lauded Fat Sam, nor under Koeman last season.

- Dominated and won an away game comfortably, again something that we never did under Fat Sam or Koeman at all.

- Won more away games this season than in either of the last two seasons.

So there you go. Without just looking at a number next to us in the league table, and actually having a bit of perspective, I can see what areas of our game we’ve improved in from Fat Sam and where we’re hopefully going slowly but surely. And I’m along for the ride, shame you can’t be.

Let's just sack Silva and hire another Silva and then have this discussion a year later because we can't move this club forward because people want everything in one season.

Just shouldn’t have hired him in the first place really.

It’s not as simple as ‘giving him or anyone’ time. If you’re not good enough then there’s no point giving anyone time. It will just cause more damage.

But you’re failing to take into account that they’re likely to lose their better performers. How is it possible to maintain any sort of level, whilst constantly losing your beat players and not getting a lot of money back to reinvest?

They’re performing to their maximum, or close to, as it stands.

No one is screaming ‘WEREZ ARE AMBISHUN’ and trying to ridicule people with genuine concerns by implying they’re some illiterate goon is beyond pathetic.

On the flip side to the playing a Top 6 side off the park, the very next week, we were played off the park by a team who are already relegated.

Did you not watch Everton’s away game at Huddersfield last season? One of the easiest games of football I’ve ever seen us have.

A massive 5 away wins all season, what a great achievement.

Fact of the matter is, there hasn’t been any clear signs of improvement and there’s nothing to suggest things will get any better. It’s blind faith.

I’ve just reeled off signs of clear improvement and you’ve just ignored them and wrote them off because we haven’t hit the magical 7th. I really don’t know what sort of improvements you’re expecting, were you expecting us to win 10 away games?

The Huddersfield game last season lol we literally had 17 shots and 9 on target at West Ham, it was a world away from managing to stifle a side that scored 28 goals in the entirety of last season.

I hate to break it to you but we’re still not very good and it takes longer than 8 months and more than one man to fix the mess we were left in.

I was expecting us to not be in a battle for 7th place. We were in a mess, you’re right, but when Silva is on to finish lower than the mess of last season, questions are going to be asked.

Why were you expecting that though? Because we breezed to 8th last season? We were nowhere near challenging Burnley and were only about 4 points ahead of 12th. There was no valid reason to expect us to cruise to 7th, none at all.
