It’s been average. Disappointing yes, but “disastrous”?

Liverpool’s success is causing your emotions to run high, something which our manager can do nothing about.
Going out of the league cup to Southampton at home, going out of the FA Cup to a lowly Championship team and losing 14 out of 34 league games. If that isn’t disastrous, what is?

It’s got nothing to do with Liverpool’s success.

Because it happens to us every single season. That’s the club we are. Finishing 6th and getting to a cup semi final would be seen as amazing for us, not par for the course. Just the way it is and has been for a long time unfortunately. We all want it to change, but it’s not going to overnight.

And it has mate, come on. Of course it has.

And that makes it ok? This season should have been about indefinite improvement on last season, it was hard to not improve, given how bad it was, but Silva has managed to drag us down to that level once more.

He was backed in the transfer market and just hasn’t delivered. He even had existing players like Sigurdsson and Keane upping their game.

He’s going to be here anyway, but there is nothing to look forward to with him at the helm next season.

How is one man going to change the culture of an entire football club in 8 months? He is one man, we haven’t been the club you want us to be for DECADES. We are trying to build from no foundations at all with a brand new DOF, manager, loads of new players (and many more needed). If you keep setting expectations based on where you want us to be 2 or 3 years down the line then you’re going to make your football-supporting life utterly miserable forever.

Javi Garcia managed to come in and transform Watford, that’s why he deserved more time with them and now look at them.

What do you think my expectations were for this season, btw?

All I want is a season when we don't lose more games than we win given the general standard of the Prem, not asking too much is it?

What, no he hasn’t transformed them at all! They were a crap mid table team when he came in, were a crap mid table team (at best) before that, and they’re a crap mid table team now. The only difference is they get a day out at Wembley to watch themselves get fisted, same as we did under Martinez. Were we “transformed” under him?

I think the only sign of improvement you’d ever see is the position we finished in the table. So you expected 7th this season, then if we achieve that you’ll expect 6th next season, and then 5th, and anything less isn’t counted as an improvement.

You don’t think Watford are transformed? They were a team who always had relegation in the back of their mind.

Expecting 7th is the bear minimum we should be expecting, I would expect 7th next season, I’d expect 7th again, but challenging the Top 6 more than we have done.

If we go with your attitude, the club might as well pack up now.

This would be the Watford who, despite taking 4 points off us this season and having the season of their lives, sit BEHIND us in the table with an inferior GD. And on that same line, West Ham (talked up about having better players and manager) are 4 behind, Wolves (same thing) only a point ahead as are Leicester. If you want to be concerned about ambition be more concerned about the fact we were well ahead of United at one point and now we are 18 adrift

Watford transformed?

They have had a decent season, so what? It happens year in, year out. Swansea, Watford, Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton having a decent run by their standards, and trumpeting that they have transformed football.

They all slink back to their natural habitat. Leicester had to find a king for their miracle ffs.

You’re making the mistake in thinking that Watford have the same expectations as Everton. In fact, you’re mistaken if you think all of them clubs have the same expectations as this club did.

Wolves are newly promoted and West Ham have had two Top 10 finishes in 10 years. To put that into perspective, we’ve had 8 Top 8 finishes in that time.

Same with Leicester, barring their fluke league win, they’ve found their level as midtable.

They sink back to their natural habitat because they don’t have the power to hold on to their star players.

To dismiss them is ridiculous.
