I'm not making excuses for anything or anybody, just not getting carried away by a couple of decent results and one and a half good displays.

You are basically writing those wins off because the teams we beat haven’t met a certain arbitrary criteria of quality you’ve set. Chelsea are genuine top 4 material and have the best player in the league, but they only beat Cardiff in the last minute so us beating them wasn’t that impressive.

I don't like him that much, but I have come to the conclusion that it's not the worst thing in the world for us to give him until November/December 2020 before deciding whether to stick with him. 1 and a half years is ample time for him to turn us into top 6 challengers. If we're not competing by then, then it's time to get somebody else in. His side has shown a lot of promise in spells this season, the challenge is to turn that into full-game performances and runs of form. Hopefully he has it in him to do just that.

Don't think anyone is getting carried away, Silva has shown glimpses of what he can do, albeit results haven't gone our way.
People are just willing to give him time and they understand that everything isn't going to be fixed in one season or two.
No one is making excuses for him to finish in a terrible position either.

I think you mean 2019 don't you. I don't want you to be responsible for a melt down on here.

And yet you are, by suggesting we have spent 200m to finish 11th next season.

Im simply responding to all the cuck fans on here who spout nonsense that we shouldn't be expecting 7th 2 seasons in and big money spent. If you think we aint spending big this summer then fair enough but standing still is £45-50 million on Zouma and Gomes - add 2-3 additions to that and work out the bill mate. Brands himself has already said he knows who he wants and Mosh has said its now spending bigger on players on lower wages.

Some fans might not expect much next season but make no mistake Moshiri and the other half of the fanbase will be...

Think the majority are willing to give him this summer window (only his 2nd window) and see how it goes from there. Fair judgement can then be made rather than a knee jerk judgement because Watford or Wolves are above us.
I think that's what I posted. Watford and Wolves may well finish above us,but that isn't what's been concerning me,there are a few games left that will give a clearer picture.

Expect 7th, we shouldnt DEMAND it.

Lets see what we do in the window before we set targets.

The first half was far from impressive, and I'm not the one who should be setting the levels that are acceptable. The club pays a lot of money for that to be done.

I think in this instance we should be demanding it. He's got a 3 year deal and for me he has to show he can get us into europe in these opening 2 seasons before the club commit to giving him that final year / open talks on a contract extension and likely pay rise.

This season has been poor so for me if he gets 7th next season (or pulls off a big shock cup win) then he deserves that final year but another inconsistent 8-11th finish whats the point when we wouldn't have improved two seasons after peddling Fat Sam?

Its a long term project but its Brands long term project and his role ensures the project continues long after managers come and go - we shouldn't be willing to give Silva 4-5 years to one season hopefully finish 7th which is what some appear to be willing to give.

So what? We won the game didn’t we? Or is winning games not enough, now we have to win games AND batter the opposition for 90 minutes. Stupid standards, no wonder we have the worst matchday crowd in the world.

Did we nearly get relegated last season? Every club has something that needs fixing otherwise there wouldn't be a transfer market. My hopes for this season weren't that high. But didn't include the Newcastle's of this world taking four points out of us and Watford seeing us as a home banker.

As I say, it all depends on the window we have.

With even half decent finishing we'd have gone in 0-2 down, bit like the Fulham game.If you're happy, you're happy.I'll reserve my thoughts a bit longer.
