New Everton Stadium Discussion

Spurs’ stadium is opening today with a capacity of over 62,000. Our plan to open a new stadium at 52,000 is pathetic. We simply have to re-think this.

Build for what we want to be, not for what we currently are.
There is no use having a 60k+ stadium if we only fill 80% of it.
It's a great idea to have the expansion of the stadium from 52k to 62k in the plans for future success which will lead to bigger demand for tickets.

Tottenham have had crowds of 30,000 this season.

That proposed expansion is never going to happen. It relies on the government changing standing legislation to something like 1:1.8.

What we build is what we will stay at.

I thought the plan were for a 52k initial capacity with plans to expand to 62k??

Why did Spurs not build an 80,000 seater ?

Spurs went from 36k to 62k (+26k) which is a fair old whack.

We are potentially going to go from 40k to 52k (+12k)

Spurs kept inching that figure up during the build and they have the same risks as us with no guarantees they can fill it either in hard times etc. One club is trying to break the glass celling, the other is happy to polish it from underneath.
