ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Fair play, but I sort of disagree with that as the game has changed and morphed into a financial monster that is out of control and rotten to the core.

Everton now is not the Everton of pre Sky, or even the Everton of the better Moyes days.

I no longer get worked up by what Everton do as they will probably never compete again, thanks to the money wasted and FFP. The chance of the big gravy train was taken away by the european ban.

So I now enjoy watching City and United.

It's a game at the end of the day, entertainment. You pay your money to enjoy yourself and escape from day to day chores.

I don't enjoy watching the modern day Everton sadly, and I haven't for many, many years. I would imagine I am not alone in that.

I used to get really angry about it, to the point that it was having a detremental effect on my health. Then real life tragedy happened and it put things in complete perspective.

I hope one day the club can compete again, but until then, come on City!!! :)

I can see us hopefully winning a few FA Cups and League Cups, in the near future. But i've given up hope of ever seeing us back as the number one team in England again. That season Leciester won the league was a once off.Still though at least im old enough to remember Joe Royles dogs of war.To think that we have a generation of supporters, in their early 20's now who have never seen us win anything. It would be nice to see us in a title race again, but as a proper football club we left the building after 1987.But yeah as you say come on City!I think both City and United have made our lives a bit more bearable, during Evertons sad and slow 32 year decline as a footballing force.

I mean, I presume this is a fully grown man. Thats so so childish. I have a feeling Fulham will take something off them, just one of those weird things that happen in football.

... Or of course Liverpool will deserve to lose to them again and get a glut of decisions in their favour.

Need Liverpool to lose the league rather than City to win it. The pressure will come from every media outlet in the build up for a Liverpool won. There’s no way City won’t get shafted at some point by one of the kopite cartel referees. Hopefully Liverpool are just too undeniably crap themselves to capitalise on it.

Still 5/2 to win it aswell, that's a great price as like you say, City will get screwed by the refs at some point and the RS will probably be back at the top again on Sunday.

The outrage that came from Sterling’s first goal at the weekend was unbelievable. Contrast that to the shrug of the shoulders that greeted Salah’s offside goals or penalties ‘ah well but it didn’t impact the game though’ ‘these things even out over a season’. Even today there’s articles running about Kompany’s challenge in the Liverpool game as though it was a controversy. Absolutely nothing is made though of Mane’s numerous flash points, the fact Liverpool wouldn’t be in the CL if VVD had been punished in the way they’re calling for Kompany to have been, and the numerous soft pens and blatant offsides they’ve benefited from.

The football establishment want a titghtly contested title race that is ultimately won by one of Liverpool or United. It’s only been Liverpool’s own inadequacy that have stopped them taking advantage of this in the past. In 13/14 and this season they are benefitting from the costant threat of a soft penalty being awarded any time they get in the box. Teams have wised up to it now as opposed to earlier in the season but it still means Salah and Mane know they can get into the box and are not going to be receiving touch tight attention or decisive tackles.

They're really luxuriating in that City goal aren't they? Never ever happier than when they've got something to moan about.

Thing is, they're deadly serious, they genuinely think they've been hard done to. They're demented. Utterly utterly demented.
They are incredibly unlucky and hated by the media. Bless.

Hense my post about not getting too worked up by any of it anymore.

The game of football has been replaced with global tv and vast gambling companies controling the masses.

It's like a vile WWE these days and that is heartbreaking.

Am I the only one who thinks that their second (I think) goal should have been disallowed? Lalana blocks the clearance, then as Salah runs in to win the loose ball, he takes another dive to try and win the penalty.
Should have been a booking and a free kick for Burnley

Burnley could have prevented all three goals through average goal keeping and clearing their lines effectively. Quite why bottom half teams go to Anfield and suddenly think it’s a good idea to hesitate clearing the ball in their own penalty area is beyond me. If Burnley had just done the basics Liverpool would have struggled to score more than one in that game and Burnley could have nicked a draw easily. They absolutely gifted the points to them.
