Distin -- besides that one case of dawdling on the ball and getting it robbed, he was immense today. His pace continues to baffle me (how can someone so tall and strong be so bloody quick!?), and he utilised it well again. Even helped going forward, and played a part in the Cahill goal.

He was at fault, twice, for their first goal. He has big strengths, but also big weaknesses.

This is the problem with our [Poor language removed] start.

Now if we have a poor run we drop right down the table.

If we had picked up just 4 points extra from those opening 6 games would be 4th.

But now we need to keep up the good form constantly, and thats a very big ask.

I understand ghosts general point, just sounds a bit hollier than though to me. We should expect to beat teams if we play to our football philosophy, but we should NEVER thing that because a team is "below us" in terms of personnel we just need to turn up. There are a lot of positives today, and I am sure that the manager set out to get a draw. Sometimes the gods simpy don't go for us, and on another occasion, hitting double the shots on target than the home team would bring a victory. I'm frustrated, but I know we can and will do better.

Excuse me, what? How the hell was the first goal his fault? Howard's wall was [Poor language removed], and Howard's attempt to save the shot was [Poor language removed].

Because it was his attempted clearance which hit the Blackpool guy. Which then bounced back towards the goal line and after attempting to shield the ball out for a goal kick instead of playing safe and knocking it out for a throw he overhead kicked it down the middle of the pitch where Arteta miscontrolled it and gave away a free kick.

Which they scored.

Not blaming Distin per se but it was his poor play which lead indirectly to the goal, which was a shame after his recent solid performances.

Very good impression of me there mate, ta.

Adam would, to be fair. Out of last season's top 6, he'd get into Villa's starting XI, and could make the Spurs bench. He's better than Jenas and Huddlestone, that's for sure. If we didn't have Arteta I might even be tempted.
I value Adam more and more these days (surprised to see him doing so well playing so deep on Premier League level), but Huddlestone is clearly a better player. And almost everyone are better than Jenas ;). Adam would definitely be a valuable back up for Arteta though.

"Where Arteta miscontrolled it and gave away a free kick"

It was pretty poor that by Arteta mate. To blame Distin for that is to clutch at hate-fuelled straws.

See the bit where i said I wasn't blaming Distin?

But simply stated that it was his poor play on 2 occasions which led to Arteta needing to control the ball with 2 Blackpool players around him, which he failed to do, which then led to the free kick, which lead to possible poor positioning of the wall and Howard.

Poor play all round, but a quality strike to top it all.

Fair enough, but I'm talking as much to Brownie and anyone who thinks that Distin was to blame for that goal, as I am just to you. It was indeed poor play all around, but if you're (not you specifically) going to point the finger at someone, it should be Howard; poor wall and he was beaten far too close to the center of his goal.
