Other than giving up way fewer goals and chances.
Great. We've lost to absolutely awful teams this season. I only care about wins or losses mate. Oh and draws at home to Huddersfield. I cared about that too.

You keep saying this. We are MUCH better than we were last year. This was the worst defensive team in the league last year. You can't turn Keane or Coleman into defenders easily.
Uh, okay. So that was the defense's fault? I care about them, too. Goals and chances are decent contributors to wins and losses, don't you think?Great. I keep seeing people say this. We're not though.
Cool, how was the defense? No we weren’t. The final table read Everton 8th place. And we were not beaten by dross at home under Koeman/BFS last season.

Cool. Are we going to be 20th out of 20 in open play goals? 19th in shots conceded? 20th in fouls? I mean not saying its purely Silva, but we are soooooooo much better at defending. We actually concede very few chances, definitely very few shots per game.First we don’t know yet since the season last for 38 games. Secondly, we would be definitely finish below 8th this season and could be down at 12th or similar. We keep 6 clean sheets in 27 games so far and with this dreadful way of conceding from setpieces, I can only see a downward trend. Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal at home Christ.
The D of F hires and fires the managers. So your scenario is not possible. You can, quite fairly I think, argue that if Silva had another window and free reign to get who he felt he needed, we'd be playing much better next season
However, it's looking increasingly likely that we're going to really struggle offloading a large chunk of this playing squad, which means that even if Silva has all the right players in mind to make his system work, it's unlikely he'll be able to get them all unless we have the most epic fire-sale in footballing history
Because of that, it might make sense to let him leave at the end of the season and bring in a more tactically flexible coach who can get the existing players performing whilst working with a budget
I don't know who that manager would be, but we've seen enough this season to know that it isn't Silva. Silva is all about the system first and everything else second, as most managers of his ilk are. If he has the players for the system then that's not a problem, but he hasn't had them this season and it's unlikely he'll have them next season either, so at that point it kind of becomes hard to justify him getting another season, because he isn't going to change
That's the biggest issue really. If we had money to spend then I'd actually be fine with giving him another window in order to get the playing staff how he liked it, but sadly we're not a Chelsea or Man City like club who can afford to do that season on season
Brands obviously has a role to play in getting these players off the books to free up space on the wage bill for the players Silva wants (It seems like they're in agreement as to the type of player they want to sign, which is a positive and something that might not be the case if a new manager came in) but that's easier said than done
It's the one big flaw of the DoF system to be honest. Managers are relegated to the role of coaches and you're relying on them and the DoF to agree on who to sign. It means that if Silva did go, we could end up getting in a new manager who wouldn't agree with what Brands wanted, thus leading to further issues. It also doesn't help that the DoF essentially makes a manager even more expendable, which is probably why you see so many clubs having issues with players downing tools these days. They know the manager is secondary to the DoF in the power structure, and thus they know it's easy just to sit tight and wait for the manager to get booted out by the DoF and give it a go with the new guy. Managers just don't command the respect they used to because they aren't really the boss anymore, the DoF is

I don't think so, especially in the instance where a manager would disagree with what was needed. That's a critical part of the hiring process. Or that the manager wouldn't be backed by the DofF. A massive part of the DofF role is picking the right coach. I would think if the structure was proper, it would have the opposite effect on the players. Meaning if a manager goes, things about the club aren't changing. Same vision. Same goals. Things are LESS likely to change. But the D of F can be fired, too.Isn't that what my post said?
