That's the internet sadly

Happens with players all the time as well

Once someone declares that they don't rate a player, they'll move Heaven and Earth to justify that stance, even if the player plays well, because they've nailed their colours to the mast and don't want to admit they were wrong
And the reverse. Let us not forget that there are still people who try to claim Sandro just needs a run of games, Tosun would score 20 goals with decent service, and Keane would be fantastic if we just played a completely different style of football, with completely different players around him, and preferably against people with no legs.

Why not if things ain’t working out. 8 months in and we can’t do basic defending. Worst ever PL home records is on cards this season.
You keep saying this. We are MUCH better than we were last year. This was the worst defensive team in the league last year. You can't turn Keane or Coleman into defenders easily.

I don’t understand people saying ‘I don’t want to be a sacking club’ and therefore leave him in his job.

It’s completely stupid. Leave a bloke to continue losing game after game after game because sacking him would be worse?

What would it take in this situation? Relegation preferred to sacking someone - complete nonsense.

Every appointment is a gamble, admit it’s been a mistake and get rid before it’s too late.

Squad at his disposal and he can’t get results against total dross sides.

I don't want to be a sacking club either, It sets us back massively compared to other sides because we have to start again it's a transition etc etc but it shouldn't be used to defend a poor manager. The last 3-4 years we've just wasted on chopping and changing because we're hiring duds.

Have they?

Aside from Digne and Richarlison there's question marks over Bernard's final ball and finishing, Mina's ability to defend, and Gomes' fitness and mentality.

Digne and Richarlison both started well but have suffered along with the rest of the team these past few months. They've been good but I don't think you can claim they have all worked when it looks like we face a challenge to finish in the top half after finishing 8th with ease last season.

Silva hasn't improved any of the players since he's been here and that's what we have to judge him on. His signings are alright but we can't wait for him to sign a whole new squad before he starts delivering.

Good post.

Bernard so far has done nothing.

Gomes had a purple patch that lasted a few games.

Digne lost his head a few times.

Mina looks a liability.

It’s better to have a reset than carry on as if nothing’s wrong when it’s clearly massively broken.

It’s contributed to the atmosphere at the match being so grim in my opinion. Loads of people look genuinely embarrassed and sheepish when a player they hate does something good. They have little looks over their shoulder to make sure people aren’t pointing and sniggering at them.

There's a guy near my section who spends the whole match slating the players, to the point that people actively tell him to shut up sometimes. It's always great when a player shows him up
