For us to sack Silva now would reflect very badly on Moshiri, his record of hiring/firing managers is pretty embarrassing as it is. He sacked Koeman and Allardyce in the same season, costing us an absolute fortune. Then for some reason he was obsessed with Silva (and we'll probably end up paying a sizeable settlement to Watford because of how we approached him). If he were to turn around this season and fire Silva, we'd still have to pay that settlement to Watford and pay off Silva. It's almost comical.

I hope to god Moshiri has absolutely no say in who replaces Silva when he eventually moves on. The man clearly doesn't have a bloody clue. Leave it to Brands.
Allardyce had 12 months left doubt the remainder of his contract would have been a fortune

A few quid and lifetime supply of gravy probably

Whilst I do not think we have a chance of being relegated and neither do the bookies, they have dropped our odds markedly since before the city game. We were 750/1 but are now 200/1 with Leicester (750), Bournemouth (500) and West ham (500) more likely to stay up than us.

They've reportedly had two days off from training/matches/travelling since the new year.

They probably need 3 days away just to reset. The answer isn't just 'work harder' if they're going to burnout.

It's sports science. The body needs to refuel and that means rest. Personally, if they come back on Thursday this week, I'd have them straight over to Dubai or somewhere for a warm weather camp for a week. Then have them back training at FF over the weekend of the 23/24th prior to Cardiff.

I've no issue giving them even a week off.

But they need to be ran into the ground next week and worked harder than they have worked all season. They need drilled an hour a day on set piece defending. The only way they improve is by repaying the boss for their week off by coming back ready to work their arses off.

I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record but I wonder how many who were happy to lose at home to Man City will be happy if it means Liverpool fail to win the title by one point and we get relegated by one point?
None. The only reason people wanted City to win is that it is a nothing result to us given we aren't really playing for anything and were almost nailed on to lose anyway. If it meant relegation for us for the lovable neighbours to not lift the title, then there would be no deal.

I have been looking at the table.

All it takes is for us to lose at Cardiff, very possible IMO, and a win for Saints and the Barcodes in the same Match week ( in fact the Barcodes have a game tonight as well) and we would only be six points off’ve the drop zone with a very unfavourable run of games coming down the pike.

That would make us all very jittery, because no one can see where the next win is coming from.

Or even a draw :(

But you still have Brighton, Palace and Burnley 6 points below us..
And we have a much better goal difference. Don't see relegation as an issue at all

Personally I don’t care about semi. Absolutely meaningless if you don’t win the cup and an excuse for Martinez for doing crap in the league. It’s personal preference of course.

Great but it really didn't matter what you thought (or anyone else)! I am just stating the reasons as to why it was "dragged out".

And was probably the plan all along. Entice him out of retirement, pay him a bit more in the terms of an extra year but also leave us with a bit of leeway if by some miracle he turned us into an all conquering blue machine.
