The players need a rest, that much is clear.

Regardless of whether it's 'deserved' or not, they're clearly knackered. So yes, the rest is required.

It's a shame it's come about because we were knocked out of the cup - a huge shame. But 3-4 days without training will probably do them good.

I’d have more respect for the Portuguese Clown if he used the two weeks to increase the training and practice to eradicate the shocking mistakes.

Surely if you are struggling in your job your only route is to try even harder?

No Marco wants to give the gutless, spineless pretenders a break before normal service resumes against mighty Cardiff and the usual no show embarrassment against the RS!

What about those who want him hanged drawn and quartered if we lose against Cardiff? The debate will surely change significantly should that happen. I won't change anyway regardless of the Cardiff result. Stick with him and reassess in May.

For us to sack Silva now would reflect very badly on Moshiri, his record of hiring/firing managers is pretty embarrassing as it is. He sacked Koeman and Allardyce in the same season, costing us an absolute fortune. Then for some reason he was obsessed with Silva (and we'll probably end up paying a sizeable settlement to Watford because of how we approached him). If he were to turn around this season and fire Silva, we'd still have to pay that settlement to Watford and pay off Silva. It's almost comical.

I hope to god Moshiri has absolutely no say in who replaces Silva when he eventually moves on. The man clearly doesn't have a bloody clue. Leave it to Brands.

They've reportedly had two days off from training/matches/travelling since the new year.

They probably need 3 days away just to reset. The answer isn't just 'work harder' if they're going to burnout.

It's sports science. The body needs to refuel and that means rest. Personally, if they come back on Thursday this week, I'd have them straight over to Dubai or somewhere for a warm weather camp for a week. Then have them back training at FF over the weekend of the 23/24th prior to Cardiff.

We’ll take no more than 2 points from the next 9. That’s how much this break will help us.

They should be trained even harder. They should be using this break to continually learn how to defend in Silva’s preferred zonal marking system.

And I'm sure they will be - after they've had a few days off.

If you are struggling at work, you work harder. I get it. But sometimes you burnout.

Now whether it's mental or physical it's still burnout. And a break can do you good.

In terms of sport at an elite level, r and r is crucial.

He may finish out the season but that should be all. Cant afford to give him the summer up until Christmas. Like others have said, who are you going to find in December and January and he could very well have us in the relegation spots. He hasn't shown he can turn this around.
I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record but I wonder how many who were happy to lose at home to Man City will be happy if it means Liverpool fail to win the title by one point and we get relegated by one point?

If any of that is true our players are more pathetic than I thought, Which was already a lot.

I could give a toss about the RS. Our team is in relegation form right now with a clueless manager at the helm. I never wanted him here to begin with. Showed nothing at Hull or Watford to show hes the next big thing. Time to stop taking mid table and relegated teams managers and look to leagues like Germany and Italy. Winner needed.
