It's how he wants to play, but having Gomes and Gana as your 2 DMs is just awkward. Gomes is just a step slow and fouls too often. Good player, but not in that role I don't think.

What the hell was Silva thinking when he dropped Davies deeper to accommodate Sigurdsson? Up until that point, he'd been our most effective player and pressed their defence brilliantly. Completely lost that energy with that substitution. What a div.

Delighted DCL went to war with the CBs, just a pity nobody gambled on getting beyond him for a flick on. Thought Kenny coped well against top wingers and Zouma was fine.

I don’t think the substitutions improved us, perhaps Silva found a shape that’s worth persisting with.
