ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

The only difference is that a few weeks ago Origi buries that last minute chance and Liverpool win that with 2 offside goals, oh and Maguire’s gets ruled out as well for no reason. They have 4 more points and are flying into the next game. The small margins that were going for them last year are going against them now. I think they’re actually playing the same. They were rancid against Leicester away, Fulham at home, Brighton at home, Palace away early in the season but got away with it. Those fine margins don’t seem to be falling for them now and long may it continue. Whilst City have flapped more than last season it will unnerve Liverpool that they’ve had 2/3 of a near perfect season with the stars aligning for them and they’re only 3 ahead. They will never have a run like they did up to the end of December again and they know it.

Exactly. They don't seem to see how fragile their lead is. All I see is the small margins and finer details like you say.

Pickford 93rd minute error - 2pts gained from a fluke.

Mahrez last minute penalty miss 1pt gained.

Thats without looking at every point gained from a Salah dive.

The difference is, United fans would prefer City, a Mancunian team, to win the league. Whereas, plenty of Scouse Blues would give their left nut to see a Mancunian team win it. I don’t subscribe to this way of thinking at all. As an older fella, I remember when blues and reds got on with one another and much preferred it that way.

I am an older fella too mate and I don't remember anytime in my lifetime when blues wanted to see Liverpool win anything and the same goes for reds fans not wanting to see us win anything.
We are local rivals so why would it be any other way?

I see some their damn hypocrites are already up in arms, and even attempting to make Blues feel guilty on various other sites, over the fact many fans would be happy to take a defeat for us tomorrow.

This is the same set of fans who openly wanted their side to lose to Blackburn in May 1995, and Chelsea in May 2010 because both times they didn't want to help Man Utd win the title.

The Chelsea one was when Gerrard did that deliberate terrible back pass to allow Drogba in to score in a 2-0 defeat the RS were so pleased about. But karma certainly came back to bite slippy on the backside four years later, and let's not forget that 'Cockney for a day' banner seen in the Kop that day in 2010.

No doubt though these beauts will have conveniently erased all this from their minds. They've always had selective memory syndrome.

What goes around comes around and they are squealing like stuck pigs now the boot is on the other foot.

And two points extra for City, so as it stands City would now be top.

The Palace 3rd choice keeper punched the ball into his own net to gift them 3 points too.... Been riding their luck so much its unreal..

Let's be honest, if VAR was used this season - I think they'd probably be about 5th in the League, with Salah already having served 2 bans for his theatrics.
I'm sure the officials would find a way to give them some advantage. Everyone's seen Salah diving already, refs included, they're still buying it most occasions

I agree that most blues and reds feel that way. I can remember wanting Liverpool to win cup finals for my Kopite brother and mates. Arl arse not to, in my view. However, I appreciate I’m a minority.

I got the impression last night that Salah was itching to find a moment to go down but not only did West Ham not fall for it he wasnt getting into poition anyway to do so, the diving being highlight is going to have an effect on them i reckon, and defenders are watching for it

It didn't seem to get much attention from pundits, they'd say 'its a soft one' or 'there is contact'. Kilbane across a number of platforms is the one that sticks out as the first to say 'dive' and 'cheat'. Credit to him..

The rose tinted glasses on that were trodden on good-style I think when, in our 80's golden period, we had the temerity to leave the Kopites gormlessly snarling open mouthed that we were top dogs with the predictable cranking up of spittle gobbed antagonism towards us. Likewise, their hatred of United was clearly widespread only after Alex Ferguson vowed to knock them off their perch ….and of course succeeded beyond his and more importantly the RS's expectation. So basically....they can go and get stuffed.

Klopp was whingeing how 3 players dropped out meaning they lost height at set pieces. I might be wrong but the goal was scored from a set piece that went all along the floor where height made no difference. The left back allowed his man to run free. Klopp doesn't even think his excuses thru just runs his mouth!

I blocked the annoying kopite guy who was messaging me on Facebook. Sorry, but I've made it clear I don't like talking about Everton with rival fans, especially if I don't know them, and wishing injuries on Aguero and Fernandinho just makes me hate you. Go away now.
