ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

They can put a performance together when it suits them. I expect Liverpool to win, but they are in panic mode at the moment. If they cant get two goals up it could be nervy for them toward the end.
I'm rubbish at tipping anything but no pressure on Bournemouth and Eddie Howe looked fuming at the last result v Cardiff.
Could be a test of managerial powers to get his team pumped up for this one.

What’s your thinking at the moment, Dave?

Do you still make them favourites?

Though not as short a price as they looked last Monday night after City’s defeat at Barcodes?
Yes.

Liverpool 4/6 favourites
City 6/4

I just dont see this City team as a solid outfit. And Guardiola needs to learn (as per the Newcastle game) that discretion is sometimes the better part of valour and settle for a point on 'one of those nights'.

I'm hopeful rather than expectant. But Liverpool ARE flagging.

Even playing more conservatively early in the season they still look now to be struggling physically. And the number of players going pop with injuries suggests they'll continue to suffer with whatever conditioning regime they have going at that club.

It doesnt seem that long ago that they were primed to go 11 points clear......by tomorrow night they may well be 2nd.

And City havnt been brilliant these last few weeks, by their standards anyrate.

Think Flagging is the perfect description.
It's such a shame City haven't been the team they were last season. This would have been almost over by now.

I just have my doubts about their mentality this season (I'm half expecting them to drop points to us tomorrow) and also the number of competitions they're still in.

Liverpool are pretty ordinary in actuality. They've been resilient and had the calls go their way. I still expect that to get them over the line at the end, unfortunately.

Any injuries to 'key' players, and they are knackered.

City have additional quality cover in most positions.

This could well be a factor in the coming weeks.

Its on this, it really is, you can tell because the "Its our year" we've already won it crowd are now worried, that tells its own story, give it a few weeks there will be a full on melt down, the squads to thin, we havent spent enough....etc its the yanks fault, o and it sucks that we rolled over and allowed City to win so its our fault.

Thing is though a lack of form is just as damaging to their chances and that's what's happened.

Salah looked the Egyptian bolasie last night and Firmino hasn't been much better for a couple of months, even Mane has started to falter.

They've looked like what they are this calendar year - an average side suffused with overpriced mediocrity.

They'll do well to get 2nd this season and lucky to make top 6 next season. The implosion is coming.

How about Spurs?

Do you see them getting more involved?
