Don't get the issue with Silva.
Poll on here when he was appointed suggested we would be happy with mid table in his first season.

His new players have been our better performers this season.
He's giving the rest a whole season to prove their worth and they are failing badly.
Summer he can shift out the failings and add his own.

But will he ever be able to set a team up to defend a set piece?

We have strengthened too in fact this is the best squad since Moyes was here.

Excuse after excuse. I believe there will be more excuse if things continue not working out.

I believe if things aren’t working out we should cut lost sooner rather than later. This season up to this point, is similar to Martinez’s 2nd and 3rd season. We should consider his position in May.

Perhaps Brands will, however I can understand why things haven’t worked out - it’s clear we haven’t got as great a side as many believe we have. We are too disjointed. For me, if we get another manager we will only become more disjointed.

Silva, no matter what you expect of him has started his work, it’s clearly not finished and hopefully this summer we can grow again.

We would definitely be happy with him, even if we finished 10th, IF there were signs of life. That's the main point. Do we accept that we're getting battered, but it's because of certain holes in the defence, or because we're not playing our tactics for 10-15 mins and getting punished. are we generally showing that we are improving, but just getting picked off because we still have 'mid-table' or 'non-elite' players like Walcott, Keane, Tosun and young players who haven't grown yet. If we could show that we are moving up I would accept a lower league position if:

1) We 2 and drew 2 out of 12 matches against the top 6 (that's not a lot!!)
2) We managed 5-10 clean sheets in the year
3) 4-5 players showed improvement
4) We could see our future squad development

Anyway let's see whats next

It is the manner of the defeats that galls, our performances are so bad and you must admit, free kicks near our pen are frightening. Matters might have been a bit more palatable if we had drawn more games and not lost. The real bad one for me was the Milwall game.

As for our young players if they are not given a chance how will they develop? Said it before rather play Baines why was Robinson not given a go? instead of playing Kenny out of position in fact he on Saturday should have started rather Coleman.

For me we do have the players that have the capability of winning if used properly.

I tend to agree although if the situation/form - not even our position, because somehow we're still 9th - gets any worse then he may well be binned off in the summer.

It will be interesting to see if Moshiri went down that route Toff, I'm just wondering because Koeman was his choice, and he had to bin him costing us a fair few quid in the process, and with Silva also being his man, would he be willing to bin him after a season with another big pay - off being needed.

Should get 7th comfortably with this squad.

I just don't think our players are that good. Looking at Westham last night they look miles ahead of us. Yes the tactics was counter attack and long ball but it worked. They have pace, skill, leadership and strength all over the pitch. They have also got a few football intelligent players and a few snidey players and a manager that can set them up, its a good mix. Their problem is consistency a bit like us but as soon as it clicks for them over a sustained period, unfortunately they will move well ahead of us.

Simply put if Moshiri sticks with this clown fans need to vote with their feet. Let the deluded board realise we aint filling Goodison never mind a 52k new ground with 1 win in every 9 or so games.
