Zouma just a stopgap? Interested to hear why you believe so?

He's consistently been voted on here as one of the top performers in the last (guess) 10 or so matches from my (bad) memory. I think he's the least of our worries. Solid on the ground and in the air. Not great at any particular thing, but solid all around. Good size and pace. We could do a whole lot worse. I think we should make it a priority to sign him.

He's fine. Getting him on loan was excellent business. Solid all around, agreed. I just see how teams press us and how other teams pack it in and I can't help but think a CB with more agility - not talking pace here, Zouma and Keane are both PLENTY fast - that can really mark players in space AND play a ball would be a better partner with Mina. Keane would move to backup, helps us with home grown rules, etc.

Ultimately, CF, CM/DM, RW are all big priorities. So yes, if we've got 100M to spend (assuming we shuttle a few out) in the summer, CB might not be a move we can make.

Of course Zouma is a stop gap. He's on loan and has said he wants to make it at Chelsea.

Don't get much more stop gap than that!

Offer of over 30m euros about to be made. There is also the possibility of them including a player.
