I have lots of respect for Arteta but no way would he be a good choice, I don't want anymore up and coming managers, him as someone's number 2 I would like.
Who would you like? Bearing in mind nobody with an above average reputation will go anywhere near us.

Today's team
Pickford England's number 1
Digne Barca/ France
Mina Barca
Keane England squad
Coleman Rep Ireland
Guye PSG want him
Gomes Barca
Richarlison Brazil
Sigurdsson 45 million
Lookman ?
Calvert Lewin ?

I reckon I could coach that lot to beat a struggling Championship team.

Oh mate, come off it, your mythologising of Moyes is becoming tiresome now.

Moyes made some great signings for us, but he also had a lot of howlers and quite often he was good on a shoestring but rubbish when he splashed the cash (think Bilyaletdinov, Johnson, Beattie, Van Der Meyde, Koldrup - all of whom were big signings). His imagination knows no limits - when he took over United, his first thought was to sign Fellaini.

Even his infamous "shoestring budget" spending is not what it used to be. You're talking largely about players he signed like Cahill/Arteta who were signed about 15 years ago. Let's have a look at his budget signings for Sunderland - oh, it was mainly everton rejects (Darron Gibson, Oviedo).

Mate, he's a manager who is way past his prime and was never a winner even in his prime. He served a purpose for us at a time when we needed stability, but you're making him out to be our next saviour and it's complete nonsense.
What's your choice for our next saviour then?

John Stones springs to mind as he was one of his last signings.

At Sunderland he had nothing to spend. All the summer signings had already been lined up, so he was scrambling around for frees/cheap transfers like Big Vic.

Even Oviedo and Gibson were only signed to make up for the sale of Van Aarnholt to Crystal Palace, and they only spent half of that fee.

To see just how bad a financial situation Sunderland were in, watch that Netflix documentary

Yes your correct, Moyes can't be judged on his Sunderland time.

He's a better option than the likes of Howe or other up and coming managers.

Why all the hostility towards "up and coming" managers, but admiration for dinosaurs like Moyes?

Just because Silva isn't working out and he's deemed to be up and coming, it doesn't follow that we shouldn't have a young manager who wants to build something, rather than an old one who probably just wants a retirement payday.

I don't even care if Unsworth comes back in for a while, as long as silva is well and Truly out if the place.
Rhino is far from the answer.
Disappointingly, he proved that last season.
The difference between u23 and the Premier League was way to big for him to bridge.
