My picks assuming that the very best are off limits:

Giggs: Knows what it takes to win, and as a winger could possibly get the best out of Richy and Lookman.
Arteta: Still a blue, no matter how long he's been at City, can see the other side of his 2011 departure now. Connections with City only a good thing. Most realistic option.
Lopetegui: Out of work still, blew it at Madrid so won't be all big time like Koeman, using EFC as a stepping stone to the big time. Connections to La Liga could be useful, as long as we're not buying crocks from Barca for liberia's deficit.

Dont see the attraction with Lopetiigigigiui myself, hes never won a pot.

Not even gonna comment on Giggs.

The boy is doing a good job at Derby with rubbish players and won it all, champions league and everything.

He's going to be a great manager. I'm convinced.

He may well be. But not for us, it’s far to much of a risk after 6 months in management. It’ll be suicide to go after anyone of that stature

To move on you need a top top coach who is proven

Difference being that Silva is not the clueless tactician Koeman and Allardyce both are. He has a strategy agreed with the DoF and I FULLY expect that to play out beyond this season.

The quick kill scenario for those wanting Silva out is not remotely on the horizon. When all is siad and done the owner merely wants a club that is top 10...and that's well in Silva's grasp even this season.
That's not what you said tho. You said "give him in to next year and if *that* doesn't work out we can discuss" which brings us back to "who is available mid season".

And I have a strategy. YOU have a strategy. Hell, I would venture about 80% of people on this board have a strategy. The crux of it is called "execution" of said strategy which is why none of us is a premier league manager and, I would venture, will be Silva's end as well.

Carry on like this and it could be 15/16/17th never mind 10th.

He really is Dave. It’s like watching 11 individuals, people cottoned on pretty quick and now everyone can easily stop us.

Sit on Gomes and press, game over

He ain’t going anywhere this season so we’ll so how this pans out. My guess will be 13th is we’re lucky

I don't see any realistic choices for proven managers. None would join us at the minute. We are shambolic on and off the field and a bit of a basket case.

Left field choice like Arteta or Lampard is the way forward rather than Howe or whoever else happens to be having a decent months form.

I really want Silva to be successful but history suggests you don't recover from days like today. They are the turning point and everything from now on is delaying the inevitable. I can't be arsed with the rest of the season. We are a laughing stock, and need a lift from somewhere.
