He's on very thin ice mate.

Trigger finger getting very itchy now.
Nah. Not happening.

Anyone wanting Silva out will be waiting in vain this season.

Let's see how he does next season. I'm not a dyed in the wool fan, I have no dog in this fight really. If he cant cut it by autumn next season then I could understand calls for his dismissal...until then I still have faith in him, based almost exclusively on the performances against decent teams in this league, as we've been clueless against fodder clubs.

I agree there’s little chance in him going. But sadly don’t have the faith in him you have my man.

But that's the point of what i was saying mate. I dont really want him back either but if the powers that be at the club are going to have such pathetic low standards that we're basically just here to be also-rans and make them money then I'd sooner have Moyes then Silva. Because (A) He'd do a better job at that and (B) it means the frauds running us stop pretending that they have ambition when they clearly don't.
Totally agree but we need stability and our last 3 longer servicing managers have given us none of that, it's just a rollercoaster all the time with it crashing at the end. To be fair Moyes teams could defend and attack to a decent standard and 75% if his buys were very good.

Sure stability is important but it's just become an excuse for crap managers in recent years to justify keeping them on. I can fully get behind the idea of sticking with a manager long-term and living with all the downs that go with the ups. I'd just like us to have a half decent manager that was capable of seeing us have more ups then downs and Silva isn't that man imo.

Honestly, what's he done to merit a job here? He took Hull down and Watford were more than pleased to get rid of him after their form fell off a cliff. At least Martinez had won the FA Cup with Wigan before coming here. We took a gamble on Silva but he just isn't that good.

Things have definitely shifted though.

From "he isn't going" to "gone at the end of the season" or "gone by Christmas".

On reflection we'll probably nick the odd win here and there to tide us over till May but he has to take at least 3 points from the next 2 games.

He would get leeway if there was a smidgeon of hope but things are getting worse.

I totally agree the players are also largely at fault but unfortunately we are stuck with most of them at least short term.

Silva is fast losing his grip and the whole cost and psychological impact of accepting yet another failed appointment is pretty much all that's keeping him here.

The fact he chose to pin all the blame on the referee rather than take responsibility himself is a sign he is inherently a total loser.

No one with a winning mentality plays the victim card. It's a pathetic mentality for the man in charge to have. We've just been humiliated on national TV and it's his fault.
Pretty much every great manager in my life time has played the victim card incessantly. There’s plenty to have a go at him about without just making stuff up.

You DO realize the issue with that, no?

How did "let's give him X games in to NEXT season" work out for us and Koeman? We wound up with Fat Sam. He's shown that he isn't up for this. Boot in summer at latest and get someone in then.

Latest odds if anyone fancies a flutter on him leaving

7/2 @ Hills
7/2 @ Sky

Odds on replacing him (Paddy Power)

David Wagner @ 7/2
Mikel Arteta @ 9/2
Eddie Howe @ 5/1
Joao Pedro @ 11/2

Longer odds on Bielsa @ 20/1, Wenger and Moyes @ 25/1, Daniel Farke @ 33/1 and Mancini @ 40/1, massive outsider odds on Slippy and Henry @ 75/1
