In a way there is still something to play for.Silvas career at Everton. He has until the end of the season to turn it around. The thing is though, im not that confident that he will.Everton have put us through a lot of disappointments, over the past 24 years. But tonight is up there with the worst of them.I mean like getting dumped out of the FA Cup, to a struggling championship side, and only recording three shots on target.I fear that Silva is out of his depth, and as for the players. They have shown once again what a shower of spineless wimps that they are. That may sound harsh, but it's how i feel.

Depends what the question is. He could certainly get this squad organized and playing as a team, which is really what it lacks. The quality of the players is pretty decent by Premier League standards.
The quality of players he had at United was pretty decent as well.

Failed at Sociedad, relegated Sunderland and West Ham weren’t keen on keeping him.

The team’s awful. Not all Marco’s fault...our team is always awful, irrespective of manager.
But, in my opinion, he should resign...he’s not much chop

Revisionist rewriting of history mate. Those of us who went every week back then and rember things as they were know it wasn't as bad as it gets portrayed by fans online.

Yep, but at least he'd make us difficult to beat which is more then Silva will ever manage. He couldn't make us difficult for a championship relegation fodder side with half their team out to beat.

So you admit there was a time when he was good then? Which makes him better then Silva who's always been a complete joke.

Want him back? Hell no!

Would take him back over the current joker? Sadly yes.
I think if anyone was given 11 years thete are bound to be some high spots.
I admit he was good for the club in the years we never had a pot to piss in with little or no other option.
Dont want him back here at any time.

It’s gathering momentum now isn’t it? When you are under the scrutiny Silva is now, it’s hard to come back from.

The Watford whinging claim, that thing that embarrassed us by managing us last year and his mates in the media spouting, Moshiri’s veiled comments at the AGM...all of this comes back again and gets airtime because make no mistake despite the pleas for calm, he will be portrayed as out of his depth. Another no show at Huddersfield this week and it takes a brave man say he has the Clubs backing and confidence in his methods. Bookies will be narrowing their odds.

Watch out for a Coleman, Jags or Baines appeal to the fans this coming week asking for time and their belief in the man in the dugout. I really hope he can turn it round, I really do.....but he has to do something he hasn’t done so far and make the decisions that change the apathy and the going through the motions that have been the hallmark of Everton for the past two months. Results will decide his future and based on what he’s delivered recently it’s only going one way. Needs a Brocks back pass,
Short of Silva finding Moshiri's yacht, pulling down his kecks to have a dump on the deck and daring him to sack him, Silva is completely secure.

Yes, that's EXACTLY what I'm saying.

These players are cowards, they lack any sort of backbone. Expecting a manager of 6 months in the job to change this culture we've had here for years at Everton is nonsensical.
I agree to a point, but many of those players were brought by silva or brands or both. He can’t legislate for what went on before but he is very much accountable now. Do you genuinely see any evidence that we are progressing under silva, I’d say we are regressing under him.

We progressed up to the derby, then it went downhill fast. That's down to longtime issues concerning character and morale at the club.

But that's the point of what i was saying mate. I dont really want him back either but if the powers that be at the club are going to have such pathetic low standards that we're basically just here to be also-rans and make them money then I'd sooner have Moyes then Silva. Because (A) He'd do a better job at that and (B) it means the frauds running us stop pretending that they have ambition when they clearly don't.

Did a very good job last season at West Ham. Signed off by giving Fat Sam another pasting!
Ive resigned myself to wanting him back,my thinking is let's go back to square one and I class Moyes leaving as that point. So go back forget about all the rubbish that's happened between and get going again, at least he could set up a team to defend. He even has a few old faces still here and I beg he would get Coleman to his best again, I honestly can't think of anyone better for the job. If any of you can name them, it's like a muppet show ATM.

and the fact that silva is unable to turn a slide / slump round. plus the fact he is the one who can get morale up, not down!

you see the state of him in the presser just now !
