Agreed, we need to stick with him for the rest of next season too. If we were to boot him out too soon we have basically become Watford or Newcastle. The new man comes in wants his players and his style of play, this takes time and if you fire at the first sign of trouble you go back to square one. We need a good base first before getting in the next man, then try and sign one/two quality players in our weakest positions every season.

If there's signs of progress and the team are a joy to watch then yes. But if it continues like this there's no sign of progression for me. No point waiting two seasons and the football is what we have now.

Haven't most teams at the top of the game chopped and changed managers continuously until they found the manager that worked for the club?

I think the key problem is we've been chasing managers who haven't deserved the 'chase' we gave them in the first place, and ended up massively overpaying in wages/compensation to get them.

What, decent football (not great, mind, but still think we lack a good striker and RB)?

Yes, yes it can.

To add to Ronald Koeman and the last season and a half under Martinez.

It's like people have forgotten these things, ffs.
Hand on heart, I don't think what we are watching the last ~5 matches or so are any better than what BFS put out. We sit here and lambast him, rightfully, but the team has looked woeful for the best part of over a month.

The way we play leaves us open to the counter, so we need to look after the ball really well. Poor square passing has killed us this season.
That's not a new thing though. We have been like that for a while

For example last December, Rooney edge of the box plays a 5 yard pass sidewards. 10 seconds later lingaard is scoring, all from a position where we should have been creating a chance.

Sam identified the massive holes in the squad and played to minimise them. He was efficient. Not the man to take us forward, but with this squad right now he'd be getting more out of them than Silva has. Tosun would still be scoring too because the style of play suits his own.

Sorry if I upset you nyhus, that’s just my opinion on EH. I’ve had enough of second-tier continental managerial appointments. So, when the time comes to appoint yet another manager, who would be your choice? I’ve seen enough games this season to think Marco isn't gonna turn this around anytime soon, especially with the horrendous home fixtures coming up. I’m desperately hoping he does though, starting tonight at Millwall.

It's about time, if and/or when Silva goes, we need for once to appoint someone with a track record, just see how it goes. Not having that we can't attract a top manager, money talks,it's timing really on whose available.

At the start we played fast attacking football, bring it back. just shows to play the way he wants they can do it, they're all suffering confidence issues and so nobody is willing to take the risks they were at the start.

You can only do so much, once they are on the field it's up to the individual players if they want to fight or hide really.
To whit he trains and picks. If they aren't following his instructions, you get someone else on. You don't wait until you are at least a goal down and the 60th minute every single match to make changes.

I've seen very little from him that suggests he's a good manager.
