Lets be fair mate, we are not going to pay £40million for Batshuayi.

Brands seemed to be trying to identify lads who are available at a knockdown price this window. Lots of lads with 18 months being looked at (Dzeko, Fraser) or even 6 months (Brahimi). I see Batshuayi as part of that. At around £20 million it's a great price, but I can't see us paying full whack for the lad.

At 15/20 m and reasonable wages ok
If we shift Tosun and Naisse we are no worse off wages wise and probably only a bit down on transfer money
But anything over that on a player who will hopefully be a bench player next season is crazy

+ Bolasie. That's about 370k a week for players who offer us absolutely nothing. Not forgetting the likes of McCarthy, plus Besic and Mirallas both coming back to us in the summer and under contract. Thank the Lord that high-earners Williams and Jagielka should both be off the books come the summer.

Right it is too. Let's see Brands do his real magic. It's easy to attract players when you're dangling 100k a week at them. Now he has to earn his wage by getting rid of our trash.
