If we played in their league every week, we would walk it, obvs. But unless you are 12, every single season some lower league team turns up in a game against a top PL team. Its their one off attempt at a headline.

They are a decent side. In form. We won. The 3rd round of the FA cup rarely has a PL team as the headline, unless they get beat.
If we were talking about a single poor game in isolation I'd agree. We aren't though are we? We're taking about a string of terrible performances (let's forget the results for a second) that carried on today. The showing today was atrocious yet again. It gives me no pleasure to say this but that's the truth. We were shocking and hobbling over the line againt Lincoln City is an embarrassment. It's The profomance that bothers me and the standard of play. It matters and it's the absolute pits right now.

There is deffo something not quite clicking these last few weeks, agreed. No idea why, but you never know, this afternoon could be a turning point.

See I disagree. A good manager should be able to be efficient and effective with the squad given to him.

Spending on his own players to fit or improve the system should be secondary
This really.

If Allardyce was decent at anything, it was this. Too many of these 'new age' managers these days expect to turn up and get average players playing like Barca within 6-12 months and they're that stubborn that they'll persist with it despite the inevitable criticism. We saw it with Martinez, although that happened over the course of three seasons and actively had us regress because of it..

The best managers in the world adapt and overcome - simple as that. As much as I hate to say it.. Klopp is a good example of a manager getting the absolute best out of his 'limited' squads.

I remember under Moyes, we would win a few games "ugly" and the performances would come. We need to start getting a few clean sheets, but at least we are generally only conceding 1 goal which is a start.

It's funny though, even on this horrific run, we have scored 2 (should have been 3) against a very good Spurs team. Caused City problems, more than matched the best team in the country as well as achieved the biggest away win in 30 years. As always it's more of a nuanced position than we are just terrible.
