But I thought Eddie Howe, Hughton and Benitez were all boss managers?
Next manager we appoint has to be from abroad. If we keep appointing Watford Wigan Southampton managers we will keep getting results of that ilk.

Until a top manager is appointed mate.Everton could buy the best XI in world football...and finish the season somewhere between 7th and 12th (whilst playing unattractive hoofball). There is some malaise of mediocrity that seeps into our players when they put on the royal blue jersey.. I have given up trying to ascertain the etiology of that malaise.
Not panicking just pointing out that a bad run of form at the wrong time can lead to an uncomfortable end to a season. His similar drop off at Watford doesn't fill me with confidence.Pretty sure two years ago people were panicking as well. We finished 7th by about 11 points.
I'm not saying it's the same - because the main reason for that was we had Lukaku tbh - but we aren't getting into a relegation scrap.
I'm not getting the knives out for anyone, but Brands needs to be having a target this window. Regardless of his bumph in the Echo, we clearly need a striker. I understand if the quality isn't available we don't want to get another Tosun, so it is difficult, but surely at this stage a need for the striker is clearly our biggest need at the moment.

Absolutely this^^^^.
Never going to happen mate.I remember in my younger days, during a political discussion someone said to me that factionalism was being injected into the bloodstream (of the organisation I was in) and once in it would be very difficult to get out. It proved to be true and it ravaged said organisation.
I see very similar with Everton and the sacking of managers. It amazes me now that people can't see, sacking a manager within 3 months of arriving was a mistake from Moshiri. He has spent an enormous amount of money (not least on hiring and firing managers) to broadly end up in a similar position to where we were when Martinez left.
The players now know, if you underperform for a bit, the manager will go. That was not the case before Moshiri arrived. For all the faults of both Moyes and Martinez, up until that point both managers had (a far greater) command of the dressing room.
At some point the nonsense needs to stop. Managers performances go up and down through a season. Especially managers of teams, who have scored around the 50 point mark 3 in the last 4 seasons (and the 4th only because of a freak season from Lukaku where he nearly got the golden boot).
At some point the message has to be made clear to the squad, the manager will manage and if they don't perform they will be moved on.
Big Dunc bleeds blue...he 'gets Everton'...promote him to gaffer?Pretty sure we had some shouts for the Klopp lite fella from Huddersfield as well.
You on the board? But if we don't get Europe this season, Silva won't be sacked
I do agree on this, i dont want Europe myself however if there are signs of progression I'm sure he will get another year, but right now there are none. If Moshiri watches him for 12 months and sees nothing from him to be hopefully for I'm sure he will get booted just like his last man Koeman did.But if we don't get Europe this season, Silva won't be sacked
Why not? At some stage, Moshiri, Kenwrong et al will have to realise that as a club we have won ONE trophy in 30 years, and the current malaise will not be solved by hiring managers and firing them after a sticky patch of form. I agree that Brands is the crucial factor in determining a strategy on transfers thence leading to a proper system of playing where the team selected knows what is expected of them on the pitch. The points made by posters about a deeper problem within the club hierachy are extremely valid, imo and need to be addressed as a matter of urgency, before we have another 10 or 20 years of mediocrity. I do not know what goes on inside EFC but I can believe in catcher in the rye's points regarding factions within the organisation..I too have had experience of this, and the consequences if it is allowed to carry on do not bear thinking about. Sacking Silva now will not solve the situation imo, it will exacerbate it....Moshiri and co need to bang heads before its too late.Never going to happen mate.
It wasnt an excuse more an observation of our Christmas form in the last three seasons, its absolutely unacceptable to not pick up more from those games. And I do question some of Silva's decisions. However notice how little Silva rotated and ask yourself why. Then look at how we fared in the league during previous Christmas fixtures and when in Europe. It's a pattern our squads don't just have a weak mentality they aren't deep/good enough to cope with two games a week. That's a terrible excuse in all honesty. If we don't have a squad capable of picking up more than 5 points from Newcastle, Watford, Burnley, Brighton and Leicester then we really are screwed.
It's the same for every other team in the league and tbh our squad is better than most.

I think he definitely over played the likes of Gomes, Walcott and Keane myself. I don't think he trusts some of the backups.Compared to recent years I think there's been a bit of rotation. Only Pickford and Digne started all the games right?
No mate I mean proper goal scoring CF’s. Neither of those two are.I thought the same when we picked up Tosun and Walcott, 50 mill on two forwards scoring regularly for CL teams. Look at the pair of them now. Barry playing well enough for a team in mid table. We’ve added Richarlison and Bernard to that too and it’s barely made a difference. Sigurdsson Richarlison Tosun Walcott is 120 million pounds worth of talent yet they are playing no better now than the likes of DCL Niasse Lennon etc. were. That’s why I don’t think it’s just as simple as Moshiri lavishing another 50 mill on our forward line. He’s essentially done that two or three times already. We either buy the wrong players or the right ones regress to poor form. If any other mid table team had Richarlison Bernard and Siggurdson we’d have been looking on in envy last season. Instead now we’re making arguments for how Vardy, Wilson, Arnautovic or someone else is actually the level required. I’m sure if they plued for us though they magically wouldn’t be the level required though.
