I've seen some stupid posts on here but this comes very close to the worst. What about the so-called top teams in the Premier League, non of which has managed to put a dent in their run. At least we came very close and weren't anywhere near the drubbing Arsenal got today. To blame a mistake by Pickford for them winning at the death is one thing, but to blame him for their success in other games is moronic.

It was an expected 3 points for them, which they had to work harder than they expected for. It was a disappointment for us, but not really a big disappointment for many of the posters on here who actually expected a hammering on the day. But don't let reality intrude eh?
 
Did Arsenal back themselves to lose today? Take a look at Firminho’s (first?) goal where he dribbled it into the box before scoring. A token foot in by the defender to either side, with the third doing a Gerrard- against -Chelsea comedy slip.

And that ‘contact’ with Salah which saw him awarded a penalty looked contrived to say the least, especially in light of Salah’s recent unpunished diving bout. And talk about ‘protesting too much’.

Not scrutinised the rest as I lost interest by half time, but Arsenal looked suspiciously crap.
 
End of the day the whole league is down to consistency. The RS are the most consistent side in a league where a team can beat Chelsea and Man City then lose to Cardiff (eg Leicester).

Christ, big disappointment averted because we didn't get hammered in the Derby. Pathetic.
 

Pickford's error gave them a shot in the arm and no mistake. Klopp's reaction showed you that. Of course it's not the reason they are top. They've been the best team so far but it certainly was a huge moment for them.

It's if any Everton player who is not called Pickford is still using it as an excuse for a poor December that concerns me more.

I take it you didn't watch the game and see the context of their win? What was expected beforehand is irrelevant. That game took the wind out of our sails and gave them the belief to go on this excellent run of form.

They've not kept a clean sheet all season I think. Turned up at the pit set up to our scorer the opposition....

Could see it coming.
