This club is a joke

I've said it before the two main issues at this club are:

1. The ownership

2. The fanbase

The owners are able to get away with murder after brainwashing the fanbase that we are garbage and deserve to be slugging it out with clubs like Watford, West Ham and Wolves who not long ago were in the fizzy pop league.

Our fans forget us sacking managers in the back of cabs, or throwing pillows onto the pitch, or the 9 league titles or bouncing Goodison packed to the rafters. Nowadays the fans would accept a novice like Unsworth as manager and Goodison is like a morgue these days.

Until the cancer at the top of the club "what a manager" "expected losses" are removed maybe then the fans will expect more than 11th half way through the season after another kings ransom spent on talented players.

It's not the 80's anymore mate.

We haven't won a pot for 23 years, finished in the top four once in that period we've had one FA cup final.

This is what we are now, its going to be a very long road to even get into the top six, nevermid compete for trophies.

We aren't as big and as successful as we think we are. We're bog standard, midtable and have been for the last 25 years.

Wasn't talk of us getting into the top six from myself because I know we're really not that good and it shouldn't come as a shock to see us getting smashed by a team like Spurs.

We'll finish anywhere between 7th and 12th this season and whilst that's disappointing I don't know what people expect from a team that's finished 11th,11th, 7th and 8th over the last four seasons.

Well, I think we expect better tactics from the manager, that for sure, especially yesterday, Spurs could walk thru our midfield. The defence is shocking. After finishing 11th, 11th and woefully under performing last season and still getting 7th.Add Zouma,Gomez, Richarlison, Digne, not to mention Bernard and Mina to a team that finished 7th last season, a better manager. We shouldn’t really see the performances we’re seeing now

But whos fault is it that we have gone 23 years without a trophy mate?

Had Kenwright sold up years ago to an owner capable of moving us forward do you really think a club of our size wouldnt be up there with the likes of Spurs, City and Chelsea who couldnt hold a candle to us at one point in recent history?

The facts are Kenwright held us back for 2 decades as it was his precious trainset and in the process has brainwashed the fans into accepting that "it isnt the 80's anymore where you had a competent owner lads, know your place your owned by me and now you aint much better than big clubs like West Ham and Watford"

And the fans to a large extent have allowed that brainwashing to be done and gone along with it.

I remember when fans were fuming that BK got shouted at through a fence by some fans. Thats our problem we are too easily fed BS and havent the guts to seriously take a stand and ask real questions.

Now Kenwrights still lingering around the club like a bad smell with his best mate Moshiri in charge making baffling managerial appointments and small time comments and fans are still paralysed by the brainwashing.

Some fans actually wanted "Unsy" to be given the reigns of this big job last season I mean what the hell?

So at Hull it was down to him having poor players, at Watford it was down to players that gave up and failed him and now at Everton it is still down to the players. Maybe he should find a better clubs then or dare I say - a job that suits him better?

If it wasn't down to the players on field, I bet Sam Allardyce would have been a world champion.
Anyone blaming Silva for this downturn in form needs to seriously look at themselves. The players were on the floor after the derby loss. He did well to get them to play as they did against Newcastle where we should have wrapped up all three points. The momentum has gone now though. But he's the same manager who had us playing well earlier in the season and he's needed a striker that he wasn't handed to convert the chances we create. That's down to others to sort out...hopefully this January.

The to-ing and fro-ing about whose fault it is acheives nothing.

Yesterday was bad enough, but its Christmas Eve. You know, Christmas.

EFC are not stealing mine, there was enough misery yesterday to last weeks.

The only real beef I have now is with Pickford - he needs a real bollicking at the very least.

There's been a lot of false optimism in recent years, based on zero logic. We've lost to Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool and Man City away from home and got thrashed by Spurs yesterday. I certainly not defending Allardyce, but a year ago we'd just got a draw against Chelsea at home, drew at Anfield, won at Newcastle and won 3 home games in a month. I really don't think we've made the progress some people think we have. Under Koemann, we put in horrific performances at Burnley, Swansea, Southampton,Watford, Arsenal and Chelsea. We also lost 2 derbies. If you look at DM's last season, we drew at Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal. We beat Man United, Man City and Spurs at home, we drew against Liverpool and Arsenal at home. We only lost one home game against Chelsea and we were very unlucky then.
I was one of Moyes biggest critics, but at least our players had heart and we had likable players such as Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar, Jags, Baines and a few others who put in 100% for the club. Nowadays I see players laughing and joking after we lose games, players not bothering to clap the supporters and other types of disrespect towards supporters. I would follow Everton everywhere and anywhere 10 years ago, because I knew the players who put in similar effort to the supporters. I remember the fighting victories against teams like Chelsea, Man City and Man United, where opposition players would leave knowing they'd had to work for a result. John Terry said that Everton were one of the hardest teams to play against, because our players got stuck in and tried hard.

Its been a tough run. I don't know about anyone else but even though obviously we are in a bad run of form, I don't have the same sinking feeling of previous seasons. I do have a bit of faith in what we are trying to achieve. We need a few more players. Most were willing to give Silva this season and 3 windows so why are we turning on him already. We will forever be stuck in this endless cycle unless we show some balls and see what Silva can do over a few seasons rather than sacking him at the first hint of trouble.

You dont think Liverpool players were on the floor after losing a Champions Leagie final mate?

You dont see them wallowing in self pity they are currently 4 points clear at the top of the table.

Thats because they have a good manager and we dont.

Honestly, it's debatable. I would say that we have probably had the 7th best squad in the country for a number of years, give or take.

The problem is that the gap between us and the top 6 is staggering. We are constantly buying players not good enough for the top 4 despite this being our ambition. It's brutal but our business needs to better if we are to improve. You look at how Spurs developed their squad and it was mostly down to amazing scouting. We are going to need something similar very soon.

Spurs and Liverpool wasted an awful lot of money before they got the squads they have now. It's not an exact science recruitment, there's an element of luck involved and personality and how they settle. When Spuds sold Bale they peed that money up the wall, they've been where we are but then they got a bit lucky that Kane blossomed and Alli made the step up instantly, Eriksen has grown into one of the best creative players but it didn't happen over night, they were here where we are at one point under AvB.

Spot on, which is exactly what @Yid4life said yesterday.

Well that's the thing, how is it when we had money, we could put together decent sides, now we have money to rival arsenal, spurs liverpool the team is poor.
In terms of big names we could sell, literally no one at the moment.
We dont own gomes, richarlison only puts in a shift in when we're winning and Pickford is making more mistakes then usual.
