Hodgson has had a very impressive career. I wonder if Marco will be asked to serve on multiple technical committees, get to multiple European finals and have managed his country by the time he retires.

If Gomes heads in from a yard out, we might have won it.

If Richarlison doesn't shoot over from six yards out, we might have got something at City.

If Tosun manages to score from a yard out, we probably beat Newcastle.

I don't really see what there is to figure out other than for the players to be better at scoring from inside the six yard box.

Obviously, there's always tactical improvements that can be made and maybe Silva needs to be a bit more astute with his in-game changes, but I can't think of one instance where a mistake from Silva has cost us the points...

Indeed, but it highlights the fine margins between defeat and victory, look at how jammy the vermin have been this month.

Personally I think Hodgson is a criminally underrated coach. I think it is because so much of his success was overseas. But he worked miracles at Fulham.

Personally I think Hodgson is a criminally underrated coach. I think it is because so much of his success was overseas. But he worked miracles at Fulham.

Maybe, hes done decent work, but he will forever be remembered with failing at the pit and pretty much with England, but hey, which England manager hasnt failed in the last 50 years.

In his favor, he had England third in the world rankings. I actually think Southgate has got way overpraised for the World Cup - he lost more games than any coach there! Pumped in all the crunch games, including Belgium, who in my opinion lost deliberately as they knew it would get them an easier draw
