I mean, with that logic, he isn't responsible for anything after the whistle is blown?

You know my position on him. I'm not calling on him to be sacked, I'm simply stating facts.

Oh, not at all saying he isn't ultimately responsible. But there's context that have to be used with facts or, like stats, they are meaningless.

My example would be - and @EverBlue92 please take this as a response to your post as well - the games away at the big six. Let's say Old Trafford as an example.

We had 14 shots at Old Trafford. We scored one goal. The system, or the style of play, helped us create those chances. We created more chances at Anfield and the Etihad than any other team this season. Scored one goal over both games.

Palace had 4 shots at the Etihad today. They scored three goals and hit the post with the other.

There's the problem. And as it stands, there's only so much Silva can do. He can't run on the pitch and kick the ball in.

Maybe what he now needs to do is to find a way - either from the start or from in-game changes - to ensure we create more chances, because we clearly need more chances to score more goals. We simply aren't clinical enough so, at least for now, it looks like the answer has to be to purely create a higher volume of chances and let the law of averages do the rest.

Crystal palace have beaten Man City

Wolves have beaten Chelsea

Watford have beaten spurs

Leicester have beaten chelsea

West Ham have beaten Man Utd

Even not looking at that which to an extent debunks your post mate, we've also failed to beat:

Wolves
West Ham
Watford
Bournemouth

So basically nearly all of the top half which means Silva has only really beaten 10 man Leicester and some of the relegation fodder.
:rant::pint2:
Ah - that’s better!

He doesn't want EFC to the best though...so we can only conclude that he is not an Evertonian...???

I very much do want Everton to do well. I was two months old when we last won a trophy.

I just don't panic when we're on an iffy run. And I don't think a manager who has been appointed as part of a long-term plan will be sacked because he loses six games (which is the number we've lost in all comps, having won seven, and drawn six).

Palace also have a better manager.

Can you explain to me what this long term plan is?

Because I don't see it.

Yeah there's something else...are you an Evertonian?

Not all Evertonians are whingers and put negative spins on everything concerning Everton. Many of us see it for what it is and don't think 84/85 & 86/87 season was only a couple of years ago. We have been unable to build a team since those glorious years to challenge for one reason or another with the main reason being unprepared for the money spinning PL. It has unfairly unbalanced everything and turned the PL into a media selected group of teams that bleat on about players being too good for certain lower clubs (us included). Football has changed so much since the PL and I wouldn't say for the better overall but certainly better for the few. We used to laugh at the Scottish league being lopsided. That is what has killed Everton..not rich enough anymore. Even with Moshiris cash we are light years behind and can only carry on attempting to catch up. Our football is more positive now with a new manager and our football style is a good attempt at getting back to where we once belonged. We are still short in a good few areas of quality mainly a striker. We are not a power anymore so we have to go into each season with only hope. That is a fact of life. Give Silva a chance rather than slating him.

I don't agree with your post.
