Big game Sunday. Top 6 team at home hopefully we can approach it like we have the previous games against top 6 but take our chances. I think Silva still has some learning to do, for example I think he sometimes leaves making subs too late. I remember against Bournemouth thinking when we were 2 up we should have made a change to maintain the impetus. One thing I would hope is that the players aren't going into these games afraid of getting a hiding like they were last season. If we get a point it would be nice but I would like to think we are aiming for all 3. A defeat whilst not ideal is not the end of the world if the game is approached correctly but it would mean 7 points from the next 3 games then becomes essential.

In short...

The pressure will be mounting if Sunday brings a defeat.

I think I figured out what is bothering me about this season.

It's a bit underwhelming. You look at the the performances and think "wahei! Nice job lads!" and then you look at results like Huddersfield, West Ham, Newcastle, Southampton and think "well that's not good at all". Those ALL should have been winnable matches. Take out Southampton because, you know, a cup, and we should be 9 points better.

The first team is INFINITELY better than in recent years and, yet, we really are a "look good but don't get results" team.

If we had a boss slotter or more composure in front of goal we would be easily 6th if not higher...chill we are fine...

Richarlison is near the top of goal scorers.

I don't know if I said this already but I'm not anti-Silva. I didn't want him but he's improved aspects of our play. And a LOT of our results have been a result of spurning chances. I guess that's the difference between Barcelona/Real and mid-table Premier league.

Sorry mate but that statement is pure, unadulterated rubbish .....what you would expect from know-nothing tabloids as opposed to an Evertonian. If you think Moshiri chased Silva for almost a year, paid a handsome sum for his signature (whilst steadfastly challenging Watford’s legal claims), allowing the short-term presence of Allardyce against virtually everyone’s wishes just to fire HIS man after a few unfavourable results then you are well-wide of the mark. Additionally, Marcel Brands chose Marco Silva.....and Marcel Brands clearly understands completely overhauling an ageing, technically limited squad and getting to a point where you can compete with the big boys isn’t a 6-12 month task. It’s a 3-5 year project in which there’ll be bumps in the road, and a period in which the strong in general are getting stronger.
I’d wager that Moshiri and Brands believe we are somewhat ahead of schedule and the transformation in playing style alone from the abomination served up by Allardyce and Koeman is testament to their recruitment of Marco Silva.

He's never halted a premier league slump of form as yet.

His premier league stats are horrific
