your expectations...
Neil, we've recently sacked a manager for finishing 8th in a dog's dinner of a season. What do you think will happen if Silva doesn't deliver more than that with a superior squad of players? All clubs have expectations.

If he doesn't finish at least 7th, he'll get the sack and deservedly so.

We have a proper DoF now, one who can identify a manager who will be able to improve us.

With that being said, I'm confident that we'll finish at least 7th, and possibly challenge for 6th, once we bring in a striker in January.

If we finish 8th i would put money on him not getting sacked

I think 7th was where we realistically should have been targeting at the start of the season. However because United have been poor we may have a chance at 6th. I'm not worried about any of the others as once they get to 40 points they will switch off. A good run in the FA Cup is now essential barring get a top 6 away we should be making the semis our minimum target! Silva has brought the right philosophy just doesn't quite have the tools yet. He sounds ambitious so he will be as desperate to win things as we are.

I think some people believe we should have appointed a sorcerer , who with a wave of his wand could consign 30 years of mid table obscurity and failure to a distant memory.
Sadly sorcerers only exist in the fictional world whereas we have to deal with the real one.
Or we could hire a necromancer to re-animate B. Clough.

But the people you’re on about are expecting 7th as a minimum, not winning the league.

Brain Clough wouldnt survive 5minutes as a manager these days.

He would have touchline bans lasting years.

Your not expecting 7th, your demanding it or you want him sacked.

We all expect 7th, but some of us are willing to give him another season if he cant quite manage it.
The Premier League is a ruthless business. Mourinho has just been sacked because he is sixth.

A club spending what we do has expectations. If he doesn’t finish at least 7th, he has failed miserably.
