You want an everton side to play with joie de vivre with Coleman, Gana and Walcott in the team?

Basically missing an entire right flank + a midfielder who cant pass forwards...

Interesting...
I think both Coleman and Walcott have flanking ability/execution. The problem arises is what they do when they get on the flanks. Walcott never lifts his head to see what's happening, what options are available; and whilst Seamus does look about, he struggles to deliver any product.
It's a frustrating problem.
Marco needs to get to grips with the 'opposite of Goldilocks' situation Everton is constantly in. We are the acknowledged 'best of the rest' outfit, so the top 6 go into games against us with their mettle up...and the wannabe 'best of the rest' teams (presently West Ham, Watford, Bournemouth, Wolves) also approach our game in a 'psyched-up' state. And we're not prepared for the intensity.
Marco needs to get up to speed on this reality. Mental preparation of the team is critical...and appears underdone at present.

Let's all not give him stick, even tho we've just winesed two terrible performances against two totally wiinable games.

If we can't win these games then we aren't going to win against the better one's

Where does that leave us.

Marco needs to get a tune out of these and quick

We have actually performed well against the better sides in the league, Man U and the neighbors away, both games we could easily have taken points from with a bit of luck and better judgement, Chelsea away where we looked resolute enough and took a deserved point, Arsenal away we were the better side in the first half then 2 quick fire goals finished us off early in the second.

It’s the games at home where we have to break sides down that are causing us the bigger problems so away sides are nicking points.

Watford played well last night. You come across as the type of evertonian who thinks we should be steam rollering everybody. Totally dilussional and unrealistic.

It's always a tough call to make though. Two years into this project would you persist with him if it was going the wrong way?

Point is that as a manager you do need instant results. This season Silva will get by fine as we are now but if people don't see performing better next year the knives will be out. It's a huge ask for him. One he will struggle with, as would any manager.

Yeh but until we get to 1-2 years who knows. All we know is it’s been like 6 months.

No point in knee jerk reactions. First job was to put better players in the first XI and play better football. That's a big tick.

Second job is the get a better squad. We needed something different in the Centre of the park last night and we didn't have it. Davies isn't the answer. Tosun and DCL as options show up the weakness of the squad.

Trajectory is upwards. Frustrating for sure but this season is rebuilding from the mess of the last couple of seasons.

I don't know where i stand on Silva. Away from home we play much better however we have only won once so something is not right there. At home I can't think of a game we have played well in for 90 minutes. A few patches here and there. We won't be hitting 30 points at the half way point so he needs a stronger second half of the season that's for sure.

Not blaming the derby loss entirely but we haven't reached the level we were performing at previous to that goal since it went in. Still yet to put in a complete display this season despite obvious improvements in the football compared to last. Silva needs to sort out that right hand side and we need to be a little sharper going forward. This team has got big potential but they've under performed at home for the second time in under a week and it needs to be sorted.

I think the way we set up we're a lot better away from home. All of our performances away have been good and haven't been reflected in the results. In the second half of the season, with only spurs the only notable team to play away I hope we can turn all these draws into wins.

We've just been so crap at home all season tbf.
