It’s his first season ffs how can we as a club ever build anything when everyone wants success in 5 minutes.

It's always a tough call to make though. Two years into this project would you persist with him if it was going the wrong way?

Point is that as a manager you do need instant results. This season Silva will get by fine as we are now but if people don't see performing better next year the knives will be out. It's a huge ask for him. One he will struggle with, as would any manager.

After the derby match, I was really thinking we could turn Spurs over. That´s optimism quickly evaporated.

Genuinely I´d be happy to see us give them a game. Easy to underestimate the quality in their ranks, it´s so much better than what we´ve got.
I was thinking the same. Home game against a good side to measure where we're at. My optimism has faded a bit with those last two performances. We'll soon find out.

You've got to be honest and say what were your expectations for this season with a new boss and half a new team.

If you were saying it takes time but then lose your mind when we look a bit average 3 months in, then you are a nonsensical nonsense of a football "fan".

I think he is doing okay and I see some reasons to be optimistic, and actually like some of the team now. However I don't think any one of us have a clue if he will turn out to be crap, great or average for us.

But I prefer the punt on a young progressive manager like this than the utter rubbish we hired the last two times.

Patience please

I think the problem is mate, when we win some of our fans big us up " we can challenge the top 6, we're absolutely boss, we've got the bossest players etc" then when we get beat what we get from the same lads is, "it's early days, Silva's still building foundations, players need to settle etc." Even though it's true, that Silva is still laying the foundations, it comes across as an excuse and a pop at anyone who dare criticise us.

I agree. And he will get time.

But there is no point in history where it will be acceptable for Everton to take 3 points from home games against Huddersfield West Ham Newcastle and Watford. The last two results and performances haven't been good enough regardless of how long he's been here.

The frustration is justified in my opinion. Some minor criticism is also justified towards the manager. Shouts of sack would obviously not be justified but thankfully 90% of people seem to understand that we need to give the manager until midway through next season before we can see the overall direction of the club. Barring a complete collapse this season of course. But I don't see that.

We were poor tonight, I felt when we got the 1st goal we were gonna swamp them but I think the tesm got a bit complacent. I heard fans make fun of Deeney on here but he showwn real fight tonight and that’s what our forwards lacked and he bUllied Keane all night who was below par.

It's over the top either way. Some fans flipflop between the negative and positive.

What's the hurry. We've been crap for a few seasons now. Let's see if we can give some reason for encouragement within this season and hope that the next two transfer windows leave us with some genuine belief starting next season.

Deffo mate. Still very early doors for Silva, a few more players in the Summer, and we can then gauge what he's all about.

Let's all not give him stick, even tho we've just winesed two terrible performances against two totally wiinable games.

If we can't win these games then we aren't going to win against the better one's

Where does that leave us.

Marco needs to get a tune out of these and quick

You could see they wanted it more than us in the second half mate, we couldn't handle them physically, they just bullied us all over the gaff, and we didn't have a response to it.
