I'm certain our best pairing is Keane and Mina. Zouma doesn't sense danger. He isn't a natural defender and loses his man all the time. People are caught up with the fact he has mobility but he spends the game trying to recover his errors.

..I think Silva wants to play a higher line, so Zouma has to be first choice. Have a look at the last England game, once the forward is goal side of Keane he might as well be sitting here with me having a dark rum and ginger. He’s played very well of late, credit to him but i’m in the Mina/Zouma camp.

..that’s a moot point (about Keane holding the back four together). There is an argument that Zouma’s introduction made up for Keane’s inefficiency. Regardless, Silva might think Plan A has hardly ‘failed’ and is worth persisting with.
Not sure whats this inefficiency is, but we have conceded three once this season, against West Ham, the game Keane was injured for.
He gets rested against Newcastle and we conceded a very sloppy goal that should of been stopped.
Keane has shown he is important to the team, Zouma hasnt

I agree with eggs but you do make good points beauty of it is a man who gets paid millions and knows more about Footie than all 3 of us will almost certainly show us who is right.

Yeah thats it, this is what we pay him for, just hope he gets it right, dont get me wrong i dont have any personal dislike of any of the players, just want the two who are more likely to help keep the score line going in our favor starting

We were rock solid at Anfield and Stamford Bridge with Keane and Mina. We were extremely shaky on Wednesday night without Keane.

Im shocked at how he's played this season but i know what camp I'm in.

Again, for the 15th time, Keane is faster than Zouma. Silva also doesn't play some super high line, so pace doesn't matter that much anyways.

You keep saying this with conviction which makes me think you actually know something for a fact but watching them both it’s night & day. Absolutely zero chance Keane is able to outpace Murphy on Wednesday night and Zouma just eat up the ground and steamed past him.

You might be right I just can’t see it I’d say Zouma must be up there be the quickest in the league.

The game Mourinho subbed terry at half time for Chelsea at united he brought Zouma on & said something along the lines of he is the quickest defender at the club.

Keane has been brilliant but he looks slow too me

..Silva said in interview recently that he likes to play a higher line. Clearly against Chelsea and the Reds we sat much deeper, but it’s about the long term and I think Silva wants pace in the back four.

Times don’t change. I loved Sheedy picking his best ever X1 and he commented about the pace and athleticism in that mid-80s team. Strategically, we have needed that for a while. It’s early days, but i’m sure Silva is so eager for Zouma to play because he offers what the other two don’t.

I’m not saying i’m right, of course, it’s just what I think.

I was one of the ones calling for Keane to be dropped for Zouma but after Newcastle im not as sure now.

Keane and Mina have been a rock for us I wouldn't mind seeing them against Watford tomorrow.

Coleman is the one who needs booting blokes finished.

You can google it, I'm not making it up. Ask Sam Dyche and look up the mirror article about the fastest players on each team. I've posted it like 2 or 3 times. I personally don't think it matters much, but there is a very bizarre idea that Zouma is some speedster and Keane is slow. He's not.

I don't think we sat any deeper at all. But really, it's higher than what? We sit like 25-30 yards out. We make the attacking zone smaller for other teams.

It doesn't really require tremendous pace, although some anticipation would help. But it's just not a high press, so I don't think pace is really that necessary.
