Is it though?

We seem to have this weird snobbery at times.

We all know what we get with Niasse. He is ungainly, he does some really odd things but one thing he does give you is goals and creation of chances. Somehow some way he always ends up getting chances or makes chances for others. He has done it in the top flight for different teams, done it in different leagues, even done it at international and European level. He is certainly erratic, even from minute to minute but we should have more than enough talent in our side to cover for that.

Nobody is claiming he is the new Pele, but if you need to chase a game and grab a goal he is a damned good option to have even for 15-20 minutes.

I would actually say the revisionism is more from you than the people saying he has his uses because his although his "ability" can probably be questioned his track record and results really can't.

Again nobody is saying play him every minute of every game, but when chasing a game and you need a goal...then why not Oumar? He has proven he is capable of playing that role.

The results clearly can, we win more points without him than we do with him, this is borne out both when we are crap and when have a better side this year.

So when you take into account this proven scoring record all over europe that you claim he has the team still does worse when hes on the pitch, what does that tell you?

Its not snobbery its cold hard facts, even when he had his best scoring run of his whole career and the team was garbage we were still better off without him.

Don`t get me wrong, I like the Prince, but despite the fact that Silva had him at Hull, he never plays him ?

What I`d take from that is that he doesn`t think he is suitable for this Everton team and I`d expect to see him moved on in January.

Well that's just a load of nonsense, he's the main reason we didn't get sucked into the relegation spots last year.

Marco has played bambi Lewin a fair bit this season though, he's clearly got some flaws to work out in his management

We got 24 points in his 22 appearances last season, 25 in the 16 he didn't play.
Can't really compare the two though, he was playing largely in the absolute disaster that we where in the first half of last season. Stick messi in that side and I'm sure he won't have got many points per game

I mean he come on and won the game against Bournemouth but honestly that's all I can remember him being a game changer in

Watford, chased a lost cause when 0-2 down and looking awful, gave everyone a lift and went on to win 3-2.

Palace, won a pen (Got banned for it like...) and scored the equalizer in a 2-2 draw.

Southampton away, gets Yoshida sent off when 1-0 down, holds the ball up great at the end of the game, waits for players to push on and sets up Gueye who puts Davies in for a 96th minute equalizer. (I think that last one was in this game...)

So yeah not too bad given the limited time he got.

He can change games regardless of his abilities.(which to me are massively overstated anyway)

He's not above chasing lost causes and he can finish, but that's pretty much all he brings to the table

His footballing ability is, for the Premier League, very low

He's a grafter and a trier, and can sometimes be useful off the bench just to put the willies into a tiring opposition side, but he's not a good footballer by any measure you'd like to use and I think it's probably best we try and move him on

And I say this as someone who likes him

There is one measure I would like to use which is the whole scoring goals measure... That is a pretty good measure.

I know exactly what you mean and generally agree but he will always get you goals. If he was willing to stay on the bench and come on in emergencies then great but I doubt neither he or the club would want that as he is hardly on buttons.

If we can get the £13m we paid for him I think moving him on would be best for both parties.
When Koeman was manager he was written off and basically worthless. He's proved himself as a capable player since, much to his credit. Not good enough for where we want to be but I for on will remember his contribution to the club in an awful period.

So your crediting niasse directly for the Watford game? he come on and done his job he far from won the game ( ie like he did vs Bournemouth with 2 goals )

palace he cheated

Southampton was at home in the most meaningless game ive EVER been to in my life

like I said on previous topics he is what he is a nuisance, but if we any hope of getting anywhere near the top 6 then this feller is the furthest thing from what we need

Thing is, he hasn't scored since what, January?
