Just hope they splash the cash, buy smart and get quality forwards - he deserves better in front of him.
This might be what convinces him to stay. Cause if we get em CL is a real possibility.

Gomes plus a true CF and a RW and we are a serious threat
Add in a player like Doucoure or Ndebele from Lyon ( who I doubt very much we could attract ) to replace / rotate with Gana and we are title challengers Problem is it’ll take time and money and the likes of Ricarlison and Mina may not hang around too long if we don’t win silverware
There again last summers spending amazed me as I’ve no idea where the cash came from ( I’ve my suspicions ) but the stadium funding will undoubtedly affect our transfer budget
Gomes plus 3 others in the next two windows would be a real statement of intent and if that happens it’ll be more than the Liver building turning blue

From day one eggs said he’s a rolls Royce of a footballer
Looking back at some of the posts while he was injured there are a few lads who should be walking around in sackcloth and ashes begging Andre for forgiveness

A RS I know was raving about him when we signed him , really going on about what quality he had and he certainly wasn’t exaggerating.

He’s a pleasure to watch and the difference having that real quality makes is obvious

The fans, and Messi, took the hump because Gomes said in an interview that Ronaldo was the better player. Messi later claimed that Gomes had been passing Barca info to his mate Ronaldo. That was the reason that the atmosphere turned toxic for him at Barcelona
Messi rules the club and the fans turned on Gomes, which affected his form and his confidence. He is a top class player and if he can enjoy his football here he will ultimately prove to be a bigger success than Mina or Bernard.

I think we can get him if the price is right. Gomes is in a situation were he wants to be wanted and loved, he wants to enjoy his environment. I think he is at the moment and don't believe he will put CL ambition before feeling loved and needed. He has been there with Barca and he hated it and went into a shell. We have a great chance of getting him if Barca are realistic with a price.

He seems to tire in the 2nd half - could be we have no one in midfield as good as him reminds me a bit of HK left when he carried us in midfield when bally had gone and Harvey was injured.....

He missed a lot of pre season Joey, same as Bernard so I think that explains why they naturally tire in the last 10/15 minutes.

The more games they play the sharper they will get.

But can we not rewrite history?

Arteta was an unbelievable player for us. From 06-09 he was easily one of the best midfielders in the league. A different type of player to Gomes as well, so I don't really get the comparisons.

Arteta did turn up against the big boys as well. Don't know where you're getting that from?

Scored loads against City. Scored in the last derby win, created plenty of goals/chances against the big teams. Scored against United.
