I agree mate, it's a blow to lose 3 points that way, but really it is just 3 points. I'm looking at the improvement we've shown recently and like you, I'm hopeful for the future.
If it makes you feel better, its only a point we dropped.

Though I'm more disappointed that we gave them 2 points on man c.

Sickening defeat but having slept on it there are many positives to be taken from yesterday.

The defence has tightened up considerably and the free scoring RS were restricted to just a couple of clear chances.

Midfield trio of Gomes, Gylfi and Gana is the combination we have been missing for years. I expect that Moshiri is already making moves to sign Gomes on a permanent.

Up front we are getting chances galore but are just missing that bit of class and bit of luck that a dedicated finisher brings. A must buy in the summer if we are to push on.

Mentality wise, Silva had them right up for it, same as he did for Arsenal and Chelsea. The inferiority complex is gone.

Amazing transformation in a matter of months and it feels like we are on the cusp of a real breakthrough under this manager.

It may have already been suggested (probably has!)...but the next 'Everton that' exercise will be us beating Man City and handing RS the #1 spot.
The league certainly looks much tighter this season. Could be only a few points in it? There may be divided loyalties for many Everton fans in the City games? The Goodison game is late February, that could be crucial in deciding the title, a long way off now.

It's obvious the lack of an actual striker is costing us right now. Richarldson is good but you don't want your striker defending in his own box or tracking back to that extent.

I hope the club are ready to back that. Sell niasse and gamble on a striker who can play in this team. Ironically onykerwu would be ideal for us right now.

The positive from yesterday is that them lot take a flukey win as standard and won't earmark the fact their best 11 struggled to beat us. Whereas we matched the 2nd in the league stride for stride so the progress Silva has made is massive

Surprised by some of the Ref comments. I thought he was very out of his depth. My perspective was that Gana should have been given a free kick in the centre at the end. I saw him bottle giving Mane a yellow for a deliberate hand ball. You could see the blokes disappointment when he had no choice but to book one of their players.

Think that was the cleanest performance I have seen from an Everton team in a derby. Gomes yellow was very soft. Their Fans were subdued for large parts.

As for they don't see it as their biggest game, Salah stated it was the biggest game of the season for them. Goal aside, was pleased with the performance and professionalism.

Their keeper with the touch vs Walcott and save vs Gomes, lucky or not, won them the game for me.

Comment above is true - normally we’re accused of turning up to kick lumps out of them and we didn’t. No scouser in the line up - wonder if this helped us not get caught up in the emotion/nerves

How many long balls did they play today?
They just happen to have a very good front three.

If we can get a finisher to slot a few goals them we can challenge for a top 4 place

I still feel sick from that. Messages from RS mates convinced that they deserved the win. There’s no end to their lack of self awareness and grace.

Gomes is a sexy monster and we need to get him signed before sky flog him to a ‘bigger’ club.
