2018/19 Theo Walcott

I really thought Chelsea away could be the game for him, given that we'd have less of the ball and would be playing on the counter-attack which would best suit him. I'm sure that over the busy christmas / new year period if his form doesn't improve he'll be rotated with Lookman, or possibly Tosun / Calvert-Lewin with Richarlison back on the flanks.

I really don't think he has been that bad. He's given the ball away a bit but he isn't the only one. He's been wasteful with his crossing but again he isn't the only one. He still has a role to play for us this season but at the moment it might be time to see what Lookman can do from the start. Walcott's pace may suit the bench as well.

Hasn’t been that bad? But he’s giving the ball away, wasting his crossing opportunities and missing his sitters?

For someone of his experience, he lacks a football brain . Right at the start of the second half when Chelsea went straight onto the attack, They swung the ball out to the left where Alonso and Hazard were waiting for it, Coleman was totally isolated 1:2 and Walcott was about 20 yards away just watching. The 2nd half was about 5 second old!

If he doesn’t get dropped how does he learn his current form is unacceptable?

He really wasn't bad at all yesterday.

His touch let him down for that chance. Other than that it was a good performance.

He's in the team because he offers something none of our other players currently do and that is sheer pace to be able to get in behind (which is where the chance came from yesterday). He is always a threat, things aren't going for him at the moment with the chances.

But dropping a player isn't always the answer.
