Hilarious that people in the match thread thought he didn't know what he was doing when he brought Jags on.

Today has shown that the team is very well coached and and that their game management is spot on. In a short time he has already instilled a pride in wearing the shirt for the players he has brought in and a good team spirit is developing as a result.

There's plenty to look forward in the future to as this side progresses.

Whens Jags came on the pressure on us seemed to ease significantly. Good change at a good time.

Silva really is doing a top job.We are competing with, and holding our own against the best sides. We should have got a result at Old Trafford, and the point today was well earned and well deserved.I just can't wait until January, and we hopefully get some new signings in.I'd say the we were better off with Big Sam crowd, must feel like a proper bunch of idiots now.;)
The way I see it is without Allardyce, we wouldn't have ended up appointing Silva. That's the only positive I can think of right now.

a terrible officiating decision from being only a goal apart from arsenal, a terrible officiating performance from being level from united and arguably another terrible officiating performance today (based on reports) and still finished level with chelsea.

Three away games at the top 6 and it's very fine margins. Decent start for a transition season, but hopefully we can take a scalp this season away and then build on it with a more settled team next season.

Thought Jagielka was a good call

I don't think for a moment anyone was thinking that at the time he was coming on....think most of us were thinking WTF.

It was one of those subs that if we conceded and lost we would all be on here slating the decision. Same applies to all subs that if it doesn't have the desired effect then it is a crap substitution. In my mind (barring for injured players) subs are made in an attempt to change the direction of how play is unfolding....doesn't always work but doesn't mean they were wrong

I agree with you to a point. But I did think another centre back was needed at that point. Thought Mina looked leggy

Isn't that good game management? Having the plums to make a decision like that. Doing nothing is the easy option.

It is good game management as he is recognising something needs changing for the better. Sometimes it doesn't come off and can unbalance the team and look like a bad sub. It does take plums to do it and he must have a reason for it. It is especially hard if we are not losing

It's valid for people to worry tho. By taking off Sigurdsson(which I agree with) and adding a defender it invites pressure to a team that has the best player in the Premier League. It came off, fair do's today.

Am I the only one who thinks a 3-5-2 would really suit us against the top 6 sides?

We have two attacking full backs who can sit back when required but also get forward. The 3 midfielders of Gomes, Gana and Sig, 3 monster Centre Halves in Keane, Mina and Zouma who will be big dangers from set pieces but also help us out defending from them, and Richarlison will get some help up top.

Pickford

Keane Mina Zouma

Coleman Gana Gomes Digne

Siggurdsson

Walcott Richarlison

I even think it could suit us as a default style going forward.

That could be a good idea, except that if Digne and Coleman can provide the pace and width, then I'd have Bernard ahead of Walcott in this kind of team, because it might provide that little extra attacking edge against top 6 teams. Pace might work too though!

Maybe last 20 mins you bring on DCL, Lookman for Zouma and gomes in this kind of team, if you're trying to push for a win.

Showing he’s not phased about going to tough grounds and we’re not conceding defeat before we kick the ball. Still yet to see how we do when we play one of the big boys at Goodison but I’m looking forward to it as I really fancy us to get a few wins out of them.
