Not for me I’m afraid. He’s a decent enough mid table clogger, lots of red faced running and gritty tackles but far too many sideways passing for my taste.
Gana is easily my preference , his ability to not only tackle a player but invariably come out of any tussle with the the ball at his feet puts McCarthy firmly in the shade.
He’s certainly valuable as back up, but in truth I’d prefer to see Baningeme in that role.
He won’t displace a fully fit Gana anyway.

Especially strange seeing as McCarthy’s a limited clogger who runs around a bit, the type of player Dave normally hates.
