Those quotes were made 20 years ago. Personally i don't believe in reincarnation so as far as i am concerned the quotes are ridiculous on that basis alone.

Some people believe that karma could make them come back as a slug or fly in the next life which is equally ridiculous but for political reasons are given a pass.

Well, I think it's fair to say that if someone doesn't expect a banner 50 metres long at Liverpool's game at the weekend referring to one or both of the recent bad news stories then they could not even be described as a casual observer of football.
