Am I the only one thats a bit confused that 12 hours after the helicopter crashed by the ground, no one seems to know who was actually in it?

No police statement. No hospital bulletin. Nothing from the club.

That said, condolences to anyone involved.
they'd need to formally ID, that would probably have to be by dental records or DNA and then they'd have to inform all close members of family before a general release. The fact that no contradictory news says this is the case. Very sad, RIP to all involved and condolences to surviving families.

A friend of mine who works on 'copters (ex-forces and now in civil form) says it was an AugustaWestland AW-169, which is a relatively new and respected design.

They can hold up to ten passengers, but in an executive or VIP set-up it'd be closer to seven or eight, so the talk of having up to twenty on board is pure fallacy.

It's also a twin-engine, as required by law-enforcement or rescue agencies, so he's surprised if there's been a catastrophic engine failure as has been reported.

Very strange that the occupants of the helicopter have not been confirmed.

They must know who was on board and surely all families would know about the crash now given its high profile.

In the meantime rumours persist of further high profile figures being involved, a player, manager, international manager and owner.

There needs to be an announcement to stop the rumours.

Thailand is +7 GMT so when the accident occurred it would have been the middle of the night and nor is it always that easy to identify and locate relatives.

Then, you'd have to factor in that it would have then been the middle of the night in the UK. Once all parties are contacted and boxes are ticked, it'll be announced.

...starting to leak out now with news the owners daughter was on board, very sad.

There hasn’t been announcement because doing the right thing by giving next of kin time to be informed and have a few hours of privacy before the media circus gets fully under way.
