Leicester City helicopter crash

Human flight has always been a marvel. We weren't designed for flight...we are floaty rocks.

Helicpoters are awesome. One of the most incredible experiences of my life was a helicopter tour of Kauai.

That said I was a floaty rock weighing down that mechanical hummigbird. We did great and it was a blast.

Part of the rush was the idea that at any moment we'd go down.

Sorry if the hummingbird reference doesn't hit home. They are a wonder of the natural world. Crazy little helicopters that defy science.

Speechless. A dark day for our football club

Devastated for all involved with LCFC.

That title winning season breaking up the status quo, especially given they’d come back from League One, was fantastic for all football fans.

Similarly, this is gutting for fans everywhere.

Hoping for even the slightest good news - it feels that there would’ve been an announcement by now though if that was the case.

BBC reporting the owner was on board.

RIP. His wife too by all accounts. RIP to all who have perished.

Imagine being a Leicester fan now. The fella that came in and gave you the best year in your history has just died in a helicopter accident and you now don't know where this leaves the club. Will somebody inherit his ownership? Will the new chairman decide to sell? In who's hands might the club end up? Really dark day for them. A gigantic tragedy to see lives lost in such a manner.

Am I the only one thats a bit confused that 12 hours after the helicopter crashed by the ground, no one seems to know who was actually in it?

No police statement. No hospital bulletin. Nothing from the club.

That said, condolences to anyone involved.
As @daza_1973 mentioned, they'll be checking with the information available to them and informing the families involved; until that's done, it is not released.

Add to that, as the helicopter went up in flames with aviation fuel (high-octane) there'll potentially be a very difficult forensic situation with regards to identifying.

..no official announcement regarding who was on the flight but it appears the owners son was centrally involved in running Leicester. Let’s just hope he wasn’t at yesterday’s game for more than continuity’s sake.

Has it not been confirmed that his son wasn't at the game yesterday?

I'm a bit lost with all the rumours and conflicting messages going around social media...

..the only information I heard was a supporter at the game saying he never saw the son yesterday, although that’s not to say he wasn’t there. The first reports yesterday suggested the owner and ‘members of his family’ were on the flight, I expect the detail will come out this morning.
