New Everton Stadium Discussion

Why waste all our time with this "smoke and mirrors" though?1

Why would peel not say anything?
Why would LCC not say anything?
Why would Meis not say anything?
They're doing it because they still have hope that the cash can be sorted.

You know why they do it mate. How many times have you seen the continuation by the club with a stadium project when EVERYONE can sense it's in big trouble? Just because they produce more "info" doesn't mean "it's on". It's just them doing stuff because they have nothing to offer and will wait to see a little longer if they can get funding, all the while working on an exit strategy from this scheme.

It's called The Everton Way.

Seem to remember 18 months of consultation already. We're in a state of permanent consultation. Round in circles killing time and pulling the wool over people's eyes.

Wake up lads. This lot are taking the piss.

This is the statutory consultation of the general public that they have to undertake, not just a survey of Evertonians.

Do you understand the difference?

It's called a project stalled. No progress, just more BS spin and consultation.

Time for people to get their heads out of the sand and realise this has gone the way of all Everton stadium schemes.

More BS Spin would mean the club are putting money into a sunken project.

Why would they take the time and cost to send folks to New York with Dan Meis? Why hold numerous and lengthy public consultations that will accrue cost?

Is there something here that we're all missing?

Totally different circumstances. Serie A is on its arse and has constant corruption. We’re a team in the most attractive league in World football.

They've just signed Ronaldo mate and are on the biggest clubs on the planet.

Point being, whatever the capacity ends up being the club will have its reasons, just like Juve did.

Can someone tell me where it says 52000 capacity

What will the capacity of the new stadium be?
The final capacity remains subject to the designs being finalised and ongoing consultation with supporters and other stakeholders. Feasibility studies and surveys with fans have already taken place and the Club is working with industry experts to assess what the optimum capacity should be. So far, a final number has not been determined. There are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration, such as planning, size, mass and the look and feel of a stadium on the Bramley-Moore Dock site.

It’s not on the official site, it’s being reported by the newspapers, so might just be made up

To see if they can make one last desperate shake of the tree and see if they can find investors. It does not look promising.

Christ mate. They have investors.
Look logically at all the steps in place over last six / twelve months.

Appointments
Agreements
Consultations

The club are literally speaking as if it’s happening including the legacy at Goodison.

It totally goes against what your guessing.

It’s amazing that some fans are finding this as good news. I’m staggered.

Shows that some people will eat anything up.

Bill Kenwright has probably give hem tips of how to keep the happy-clappers in check whilst delivering nothing.

Things will never be the same again, though.
I think there;s a shiny new website for us and it'll soon dawn on them that the bottom line here with this announcement is this: no planning application, no designs...they'll come "next summer"....maybe.

Has the club ever officially announced a date they would be in the ground?

No, they’ve always been cautious in putting a timeframe on things because they know how complex the process is.

The only person shouting from the rooftops about being in there from 2021 is fat joe and that’s only so he can get the council involved.

Yes, the previous CEO said planning permission would be submitted late 2017 when the funding vehicle has been sorted. As of yet neither have been done.

The original statement said season 2021/22 we hoped to be in, then earlier this year it was the 2022/23 season. Might as well say 2023/24 season now.

Thank god we havn't done a Spurs though.

The previous CEO was full of empty promises.

Different club now, and we’re making sure it’s done correctly.

I don't think everyone does sense it's in big trouble though mate. I know we have a shocking record when it comes to stadiums, but why waste more money with consultations and road shows etc when it's dead in the water (in your opinion)? I'd like to think this is just Everton being ultra cautious and NOT wanting this to end up the way of the kings dock, kirkby and to a lesser extent Walton hall park. This is a huge project mate, much more than a stadium, it would regenerate an entire area of Liverpool that has been neglected for decades, everybody involved needs to get this right.
