Not sure he’s suited to play as a traditional 10. Don’t think he’s quick enough. Wouldn’t mind seeing develop into more of playmaking CM. Would need to improve his tackling and closing down though. But he appears like he can pick a forward pass and complete simple ones with accuracy, unlike Davies.

He is for his age which is why he won a world cup medal less than 18 months ago and is a regular starter for England U21s.

Whether he'll ever be good enough for us or the premier league is something we're having a reasonable discussion about at the moment.

I'm not sure playing for England is a great metric to go by.

Most of our young lot were involved in that and everyone tends to think they're all a bit rubbish. I rate Davies and DCL personally, but don't rate Dowell - he's got the least desire of them all for me.

And by far the most natural ability. Pity you couldn't mould one terrific player from the 3 of them.

None of them are premier ready yet, and Davies and DCL in particular have had far more games than their current abilities merit. But I still think most of our current crop will have careers in the premier league. Not sure about Dowell. Think he'll do better abroad personally. None of them are rubbish though. Just young and inexperienced and being played above their level by a football club that has been very poorly run for the last 3 years.

It was, but he needs to go out somewhere on loan because he won't play here barring major injuries.

..I understand he’s said he’s not interested in another loan. It gets to a point where it becomes pointless.

Like to see him get some sub appearances soon. Clever football brain should work better around better players.

If he went to somewhere like Cardiff in January it would give them some much needed creativity and give him Premier league experience

Rather not send him to one of the most Big Sam teams I've ever seen.
