ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

The excuses begin

If this fella actually took rest days in training seriously, they'd be fine.

An excellent season for them last year, combined with no summer off for their best player and back to the their high pressing game in two games a week = an extremely tired side.

Run out of steam in their title challenge by the end of January.

Chelsea, Arsenal and City look a huge threat to the title they won 3 games into the start of the season.

Goals are drying up, midfield is unsettled and big money signing haven't stepped up.

Looking at the Champions League, 3rd with away games to PSG and Red Star. I can see them getting 3rd and drop into the Europa.

This break has come at the right time for them because they have halted their dip but their next 5 games:
Huddersfield (H)
Red Star (H)
Cardiff (H)
Arsenal (A)
Red Star (A)

Could be a banana skin in there but I think Arsenal is a huge game.

Momentum's disappeared, not slowed.

They look laboured and clueless. Klopp getting arsey with Gary Neville a couple of weeks back over his advice that the PL should be priortised over the CL this season for them underlined that he knows they cant fight on two fronts - he didn't buy well enough to do that in the summer, and I suspect he knows they need to go with a core of about 15 players for both competitions and that City have about 20-22 players of that standard.

This wont be remotley close, imo. City will finish about 10 points better off than Liverpool, and Chelsea will get second.
The caution in me said 'slowed' and not 'disappeared'.
But I think and hope you're right. I think City will do it again but it'll be closer than last year. But not too close!

Koff back to Germany you scrotum. Don't come over here and try and tell british fans how the British league should be scheduled, the utter nerve of a man who has been an irrelevance in Britain as far as trophies are concerned.

Look at the amount of injuries we had at the start the season, our squad cost half of there's but did you see us moaning? They'd never cope.

The dignity of Liverpool fans today though. No attempt to kill the Man City squad.

I hope this act of humanity is acknowledged around the world.
Oh Davek! I'm filling up here at such exemplary behaviour by the good people of Anfield. It makes you proud to be associated with the city the way they can just let a coach full of people drive into and out of the area without pelting it with stones, bottles and flares.
There'll be a lot of back patting down at Canning Place HQ in the morning.

In a couple of months everyone will be agreeing we had a much better summer transfer window than them and that they're the ones who have ruined it by paying £130m on a clown keeper and an oaf of a centre back. Nothing to do all game and then an ameteur lunge which should have cost them.

Seeing as they didn't win this time they'll be back to assaulting city's bus next season.

What is this British league you speak of?

They've seriously struggled to create chances these last two games. They haven't been great going forward since the Spurs game in truth.

Today was a truly drab affair. One of the many reasons I hope a European Super League concept never happens is top notch teams tend to be scared of each other's quality and play tight games to avoid getting scored on instead of opening it up and trying to outscore the opposition. I still hope City and Chelsea don't do that when they play because those games could be fantastic.

They’ve played two very open possession teams in Napoli and City. Normally the type of teams that plays straight into their hands. They’ve had 0 shots on target. Either managers are working them out now or they’re just not as good.
