Missed a trick not getting Pellegrini in.

If we werent going for a Jardim, Nagelsmann, Mancini type manager Pellegrini was the next best option but instead we hired this bloke.

Martinez MrkII guaranteed but some like with Koeman, Walsh, Bolasie, Williams etc. are to proud to admit that Moshiri has once again been sold a pup. Why he never appointed Brands before a new manager I'll never know.

What a shambles this club is.
I said this.
The guy would have been a perfect fit here
The guy managed Madrid and won the league with city
But no let's get watford manager

A dour, unlikable tit who won medals in a tin pot league and accomplished nothing in the Premier League while not taking cups seriously and not having much of an idea how to sort out a defence.

Could be either of our last two actual managers, really.

I agree with other posters on here about Marco needing time etc. I'm a big fan of his and I do think that we are progressing with him, albeit slowly.
But last night he got it wrong; it's that simple.
Pickford is a world class keeper and doesn't need a rest. He should have been in goal for the penalty shootout.

On a slightly more sensible note than last night when I was clouded by pure fume...

Obviously I want Marco to do well but I currently feel as though we're coasting a bit. Whatever was said at half time vs Fulham worked like a charm, so I thought some of this 'aggression' and energy he spoke about would have carried into the game against Southampton.

Granted he changed the team up, and for the most part I think that was the correct decision - however it was the sheer amount of changes that baffled me as it kills momentum in the team.

Silva could have picked a front 4 that kept at least one of our first choice wingers in the side to keep continuity and still provided Bernie/Lookman with a decent minutes haul to get up to speed and showcase their talent.

This is much easier said in hindsight sure, but the lack of respect shown to Saints with his team selection was criminal and not something I'll be forgetting so soon.

Said it before the Southampton game and will say it again...

Has my full backing.

We are 7 games in to the new season. We are bedding new players in, adopting a new style (which already is far more entertaining to watch than the dross we've been handed for the last 3 or so years).

People calling for his head or stating he was the wrong appointment need a huge reality check.

The club and playing staff will be looking at the bigger picture. We should be too.

People's contempt for Pellegrini on here is bizarre. He's a great manager.
