I am, thinking we’re too good to put a full team out in a cup that we’ve never won, in spite of the fact we’ve won one trophy in 31 years.

You carry on embarrassing yourself, though.

Mate I never have, and never will be embarrassed at supporting my club even at the worst times. You're acting like Silva is the first manager to ever do it, every Everton manager has messed around with teams in cup competitions, hence why we've only made 1 final and 4 semi finals in 23 years

Uhhhhh...I've been following Everton for 16 years and never seen us win anything except for that jarg nothing tour in the States trophy. I couldn't care less about champion's league at this point because we haven't got a prayer of competing in it. In MOST seasons we have a semi-realistic chance of winning just two trophies. Now we're down to one.

Silva is judged on WINNING. Of which he's done very little since being employed by the club.

I'm not saying I want him out, I'm just saying he's been generally what I feared he would be.

Turd?

Wasn't convinced on getting him, not convinced now we have him, but he has to be given time to at least have a go .
Worried how easy we are to get through at the back , but other than that a decent striker and a midfielder that has leadership qualities that can dictate a game and there looks the bones of a decent team in there.

Record books dont lie.

72 points and 21 wins in one season. No one has ever gotnear that and wont for the foreseeable.

72 points?...did we once get 72 points?

The sad reality is we have many sub standard players. Not one of the over hyped kids yet looks a Premiership level player and most never will.
Many of these players will not thrive playing the MS attacking style with zonal marking etc because they're simply not talented enough.
Ev era Moyes would have them fit and defensively drilled and get more from them. Even BFS would but few want that.
We just have to hope Brands, who I think has started excellently, is able to acrue some better players over the next couple of years and things click.
Patience and optimism are required in equal measure.

Discussions as to which was our most successful PL year...Moyesiah's 4th place or Bobby's 72 points... really need to be conducted with a lot more depth and robustness than has hitherto been the case within this fine forum.
My opinion?... I think if taken in concert with Bobby's World Cup efforts (taking a team of no-marks to 3rd place), that the 72 points just shades it.
