Not sure i would agree on come out firing mate
Maybe not so far. The overall point is comparing Mourinho and Simeone stops after the sitting deeper part. Simeone plays 442 has a purposefully narrow approach to keep teams wide and tries to avoid teams playing through them. Attacking wise they often sacrifice for defensive players and rely on Griezmann and at this point Costa. In fact Atletico have been relying on a 2 striker system even longer than that going back to Forlan and Aguero.

Mourinho on the other hand never plays two strikers and instead is typically in a 433 type system to oblige Pogba of late. They are therefore relying on wingers and their box to box players to support Lukaku. Sometimes they struggle to get there because they have to support deeper. Not saying one is necessarily better than the other but the big problem is when you sit a bit deeper you rely on central defense to be strong and Mourinho doesn't trust Bailly enough to play him over midfielders while Simeone has Godin and Giminez. Generally I still think these systems are not likely to be hugely successful for top teams more often than not. A team with as much talent as United should be able to out create teams in an open game.

Anyway, how many of us are now Burnley supporters for the 90+mins they play United.
Not too much as an anti Mourinho thing more an anti Untd thing

With the bonus of a very outside chance (20-1) that Martinez might get the job...I want to see that, I really do.
Imagine the fume if they got him hahahahahaha

Only way he’d come here would be if Usmanov rolled up. He’s been a chequebook manager since he left Inter; we need someone who can get the best out of our players and that is far from him, in his current guise.

I think he’ll leave United this year, take over Portugal at some stage, fail miserably at qualification/a tournament and then disappear.
He’s been a chequebook manager since he left Porto - and they were the biggest team in the land in Portugal!

Are you serious?! Klopp is practically a Volcano waiting to go off, so you not remember his press conference when he asked all the journalists about the penalty and they disagreed with him so he said it was one in an everton coat? He’s blown up at journalists loads of times over minor stuff the difference is it doesn’t happen as often becuse he’s not criticised as much. I understand Mourinho’s reactions. If i was in his position with his trophies being questioned by hacks then Id probably snap too.

The good thing about any defence of Jose is it usually flushes the Kopites on here out as it’s a red rag to a bull to them.
I think the main difference is Klopp is genuinely a nice guy, who is passionate and can vent, while Mourinho is a complete @***hole!

If I was a United fan I'd not be too keen on the Zidane idea.
That Real Madrid team just about managed themselves. He didn't have to break sweat.
I think it suited him to lead a dressing room that, as you say, didn't need coaching so much as motivating. He's one of the few people in football whose reputation commands respect from even the best players in the world.

The problem at United is that they pay players well above their level of ability, so I'm not sure if a Galactico manager would actually get anything out of them.

Have to admit I would enjoy being a fly on the wall as Zidane tried to figure out Phil Jones.
