Hardly a resounding vote of confidence
I didn’t want him , mainly because of the way his teams defend but he is here now and I’ll give him 2 full seasons before I judge him
If I don’t see a marked improvement over last season before next May I’ll start to worry
I’ll back him all the way till then
I still think the ace up his sleeve is Brands
Brands won’t be afraid to tell him what he needs to change and the type of player he needs
Rightly or wrongly Brands is the main man in the football side of things and Silva knows this
He also know this is his last and best shot at restoring his somewhat tarnished reputation

No, I said he was a very good manager and we needed to return to a style of controlled football and away from hoofball.

It’s amazing when you think that Ranieri Mancini and Pellegrini are all recent premier league winning managers and that Brendan Rodgers was very close to being one as well. Just goes to show that if you have the talent in your squad then even a half decent coach should be able to get them going.

Indeed that is what you said, Dave.

A progressive type of manager was what we needed to build on the School of Science "re-opened" ethos Bobby tried to instill in the club before Koeman chucked baby out with t' bathwater.
