Hahaha “AVIN A GO AT DER FANS LAD??”

Booing should be reserved for players clearly downing tools or not being arsed. We’re just not a very good team, that’s not their fault. It’s the fault of the obese plank that used to manage us and assembled it. We have no divine right to expect to win every single half of football we play at home to these types of teams, yet we consistently boo off at half time. Our fans are an absolute disgrace and I can’t stand being associated with them at the moment.

There wasn't any booing. In fact, there wasn't much of anything from the fans until the second goal went in. I don't get to many games but I've never heard goodison as flat as it was yesterday.

There was audible booing at half time. Not from the entire ground no, but a noticeable chunk of it.

It's just a vicious circle at the moment. We've been served up rubbish for years and that breeds further impatience when we actually need to be supportive and realistic.

This season is about gradual improvement between now and May. Lay a platform for next season. Get them moulded into a team playing front foot football with a better balance. Then further rebuild the squad next summer and put a proper challenge against the top 6. People still obsessed with how much we spent instead of what we did with it. We aren't ready to compete. We are worse than 2 years ago. This needs a season of hard graft to get the thing back pointing in the right direction.

I don't mind booing myself but it should be reserved for full time or Sam Allardyce.

We're a better team than all the teams we've played at home this season, yet only won 2 of them. They deserve the criticism.

I'm sure we're all deeply saddened that you dont want to be associated with us.

Worst on the planet? Get a grip of yourself. Our fanbase is amongst the poorest, in terms of income, in the country, yet the ground is packed every home game. Our support put up the money and expect to see these players perform like they can actually be bothered. But no, let's protect the millionaires, who's job is their hobby, and go after the working class fans, spending their money to watch it.

Question for you, btw, giving our home fans are the worst on the planet, why do we have a woeful away record and our home form saves us every season?

The only entitled worm here, is you. Should be ashamed of yourself.

I’m convinced our fans are the only thing that has stopped this club being relegated at times. There’s been some games over the years we’ve literally hollered the players into a performance that has got points. It baffles me why anyone thinks the atmosphere at Goodison is to blame and that if we were just clapping everything the players would have loads of confidence. Every season starts with the fans backing the team and the manager and the players reward us for that by half arseing it, putting the manager under pressure, and annoying the fans. That’s what it is, it’s genuine annoentbecause this team came 8th last season when it was playing horrifically so it’s not as bad talent wise as some of our 90s teams yet their attitude is disgraceful at times. I remember thinking in the 90s that at times it was difficult to be mad at the players because they were some of the worst in the prem trying their best. That’s not the case with this lot, that’s why the fans get annoyed when it looks like they’re going to notch another season.

Well you know what? In football you don’t win every single game against teams you’re better than, if it was that simple it’d be boring and what would be the point bothering?

I don’t give one whether you’re saddened or not tbh, it has to be said.

I think a lot of it comes from us being such a fragile team for so long. Since the Martinez days, how many times have we seen us collapse after conceding a stupid/poor goal?

The crowd know this and it makes them edgy.

We need to show as a team we can be resilient even when up against it for a period of time.

I agree with you though, booing the team off at half time at 0-0 is a bit silly

Except you’re going back to a bygone era now and that isn’t what I’m talking about, but ok. Also, not once have I blamed the fans for bad performances, I’m simply commenting on how awful we are as a fanbase.

This simply did not happen.

The fanbase was divided under Martinez, and since then that divide has just grown wider and wider every season, to the point where now fans revel in the in-fighting and getting one up on each other. You’ve got to either be on one side of the fence or the other regarding managers and players, and must defend that position to the hilt or you’ll get ripped by the opposing side which will severely dent your pride. No one is united behind actually wanting the best for Everton, it’s all self-preservation. It’s been a big problem with Arsenal fans lately with the Wenger divide, but ours is just as toxic.
