Why’s that?
It’s true.
Forget the short term thinking, this is going to take a while.
Its true we may had more points from the missed chances, refs decision, less injuries etc (not the thinking that'll get us in the top 4 btw)
But believe the 6 points is much more down to Silva's tactics and selections.
As argued, even if we were up 2-0 against Arsenal at half time, using the previous matches and Silva's overall approach to go by, we probably wouldn't have won.
We have seen too many games be pissed away over recent times and it sickens me to see this not being addressed from the outset.
And you can address this without going all BFS on it.

I'd hate to see another false dawn after what the club's supporters have had to endure post Moyes.
Its not short term thinking to be saying that the first steps towards laying the foundations have been pretty shaky.
There's nothing wrong in considering what he's doing now, at this point in time, and what makes it shaky.
And it not just being down to missed chances etc and a lack of quality.

Sure, I'd like to think that this is all part of genius at work. Hopefully it is.
But as things stand I'm just going to be looking at it one match at a time.
No more staring at the horizon, not yet anyway.
And tmor am going to rip open a tinny and watch Silva and the lads rip Fulham apart (please don't park the bus, please don't park the bus)

PROPER hates pressers this fella.
Its one of the reasons Im not exactly enamored with him. He just seems so dour all the time. When it goes bad, and it always does(not just for him, for all managers), you need people to WANT you. Being so negative brings people down on you faster. You tend to stick with people if you genuinely LIKE them. Martinez got 3 years despite not having the slightest idea how to defend ffs. The best manager in the Premier League is getting the door opened because he is such an unlikable tit.

Sack Silva? Oh yeah right, because getting in a new boss with a different style, different ideas, will make this cows arse of a squad great overnight? I would love to be able to say most of those calling for his head are koppites, but that is only a few obvious mutant infiltrators, the rest are just bad melts who need to realise this is at least a full season problem to resolve.

We are dreadful lads, we are flawed in so many areas it makes my eyes bleed and our manager (whoever it may be) will not fix it this season! Look for improvement, forget top six, top 4 (hahaha), and aspire to nice to watch, because that is all we are getting this season, sorry guys but thems the facts!

While the results have been disappointing I have nonetheless been impressed with the way Silva has approached his task and set up his teams.
Realistically any manager requires a minimum of 2 seasons to fully shape a team in his image. This is especially true when he inherits a team which has been disrupted by a succession of failed managers ,all with their own disparate styles, and poor recruitment.
Silva (and Brands) have been tasked with the monumental task of transforming an inveterate mid -table club (and make no mistake that is what we have become since the formation of the premier league) , into genuine title contenders and that will require a large amount of patience and forbearance from ourselves.
The alternative is to continually dismiss managers in the fruitless search of one who possesses a magic wand to transform teams overnight , which with the continually changing of styles and players this would entail, is a recipe for ultimate disaster and precipitous decline.
Patience.

I think you will need to post another reply explains the meaning of the last word in that post
Some lads will have no idea what it means
Silva wasn’t in my top 3 for the post but he’s here now and needs our support for 2 seasons before he can be properly judged
If we see no real signs of progress by seasons end then I’ll worry but he will need 2 seasons 4 windows to be fairly judged
Brands is the key
If he gets his recruitment right then I’m sure Silva will take us too 6 and maybe then get a bigger name in if it seems Silva can’t take us any further

The first half was dreadful.

55 mins Tosun came on then change the game.

A win is a win. This is a much needed home win for Silva. So fair play.

Hopefully we now can have some stability at home. And first clean sheet too I am happy with this.

Finally a good weekend.
